Troop 383 and 222 was well represented yesterday at LEC OA Induction weekend. . Troop 383 had 3 scouts inducted as Arrowmen, 3 Scouters inducted as Arrowmen, 1 scout inducted into Brotherhood, 2 troop 383/222 Scouters inducted as brotherhood and a scout from troop 222 inducted as an Arrowmen.
For the 2 scouters going for brotherhood their service project was log splitting and stacking.
The Arrowmen had numerous service projects around the firelands scout reservations
It was a long but full day and everyone should be congratulated on their accomplishments.

One of our scouts(Mason) wrote this about the first day at summer camp.

“we’ve arrived with a slight bit of rain, while we went on a tour ( no bikes ). We were shown around by a great host!

We’ve gotten our bikes, hung out, explored, all the fun stuff.”

To add to his recap. Check in was smooth - but, Yes it was storming while checking into Beaumont for our week at summer camp. Tents were put up in the rain.
We had a cookout the first meal.
We had 3 called out for the OA ceremony.

Troop 383 had a strong presence at NYLT, held at Firelands Scout Reservation through Lake Erie Council, with one scout attending and two on staff. The event was a resounding success, and one scout's vocal cords suffered from the energetic cheering. This program offers invaluable leadership development opportunities for our troop.

Our recent camping trip to Dayton, Ohio, featured visits to the esteemed Air Force Museum and Wright Patterson Museum. En route, a stop at Buccee’s provided a unique experience for many and a treat for some. A 5-mile hike with a service project allowed us to explore the Wright Patterson airstrip, pivotal in aviation's development. Cricket Holler Scout Camp, where we stayed, proved to be quite satisfactory. Saturday's visit to the Air Force Museum was a highlight, with its vast array of aircraft and flying machines. Evening activities focused on advancement, with considerable progress noted. A visit to Young's Dairy for their famous ice cream followed our camp, wrapping up the trip on a sweet note.

Our troop's annual 'Fishy' fishing derby at Hidden Lake resulted in 15 fish caught. Anthony won the most fish caught category, and Mason took home the largest fish caught award. The event was enjoyed by all on a beautiful day.

The annual Mother's Day flower sale event by Troop 383 concluded successfully. During their weekend campout, the scouts worked at the sale while completing necessary tasks and rank requirements, including earning the Toting Chip and Fireman Chit. Adult volunteers efficiently managed meal preparations and cleanup.
