As we move into the holiday season, the Lake County Council on Aging is reaching out to our community to recruit volunteers for our Meals on Wheels program. Positions needed: Adopt of Route Driver, Kitchen Support, Packers, and even Council on Aging office assistance. Contact us at 440-205-8111 if you can volunteer one day per week - -we would love to have you!

Just a quick reminder – Legal Aid is hosting TWO free legal advice clinics in our eastern communities in October. Can you help us spread the word?

Saturday, October 3 at Chagrin Falls Park Community Center (7060 Woodland Ave) with check-in beginning at 10AM

Wednesday, October 21 at Wickliffe Family Resource Center (2255 Rockefeller Rd) with check-in beginning at 4PM

At these clinics, our staff and volunteer attorneys will answer questions about civil legal issues related to housing, safety, consumer rights, health, family law, education, work, and income. 🌞 Need Help Staying Cool This Summer? 🌞

The Summer HEAP (Home Energy Assistance Program) Crisis Program is available July 1 through September 30

Eligible households in Lake and Geauga counties may receive assistance with:
❄️ Electric bills
🪟 A fan or air conditioner
🔧 Repairs to a central air conditioning unit (when eligible)

You may qualify if your household meets income guidelines and includes:
✔️ An adult age 60 or older
✔️ Someone with a qualifying medical condition
✔️ A household with a utility disconnection notice or other qualifying circumstance.
