GOODNESS IN ACTION: We are very grateful to Quota Club of Lake County and President Cathy Zeller for stopping by this morning to present us with a $1,000 check for the purchase of new socks and underwear for the clothing drive we are running for our community's Back-to-School Bash for children in need.

Our agency partner, NAMI Lake County, OH is offering a FREE six-session program that begins June 1, and is designed for parents and other family caregivers of children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral difficulties. NAMI Basics helps parents and other family caregivers of children understand the illnesses that are causing those behavioral difficulties, and the critical role families play in the treatment of those illnesses.

What an incredibly special evening as our President & CEO, Dione DeMitro, was honored as Leadership Lake County's 2026 Leader of the Year, and we could not be more proud!

During her remarks, Dione shared that when she first stepped into her role here, she struggled with imposter syndrome. But to those of us who know her, she is the epitome of a great leader.

She is humble, compassionate, visionary, tireless, courageous, and deeply committed to serving others and helping those in need.

At UWLC, we have the privilege of witnessing firsthand the intelligence, humility, and strength Dione brings to our organization and our team every day. United Way of Lake County is incredibly fortunate to be guided by such an inspiring leader, and Lake County is better because of her.

Dione is the thing all great leaders are made of, and this honor is so very well deserved. Congratulations, Dione!
