🚨 Cardinal Classic Volunteers Still Needed This Saturday! 🚨 🏃🏻‍♂️ 🏃🏼‍♀️
We are still looking for volunteers for the Cardinal Classic this Saturday at Garfield Park!  If you have a high school student that needs volunteer service hours. This is a great opportunity to sign up and get some hours in for an energetic event!
With 40+ teams attending and races running from 8:45 AM through noon, we need all the help we can get to keep the meet running on time and as efficiently as possible. ⏰
Simply put, we cannot make this event successful without the support of our middle school and high school families.

First, thank you to everyone who has already signed up to volunteer!
Your willingness to help is greatly appreciated and makes a huge difference.

For those who have NOT signed up yet, please take a few minutes to review the SignUpGenius and find a volunteer slot that works for you. Every position helps, and many hands make light work!
We specifically need help with helping cars to park as well as on the course to keep our runners safe! 🚙 🅿️ 🌳 
Bonus, I’ll even give you a nice bright safety vest to wear! 👷‍♀️

A special note for our middle school families: Shore and Memorial…
It may be in your best interest to sign up for an earlier volunteer shift and arrive early to help with the high school races.
Parking 🅿️ may be extremely limited, and waiting until later in the morning could make it difficult to find a parking spot in time for your athlete’s race. I’m just being honest and want to help everyone avoid that situation.
Let’s come together to make this year's Cardinal Classic a great experience for all athletes, coaches, and spectators.

✨🌙 HOKA Night XC Showcase 🌙✨
WOW... what a way to start the season!
🔥🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️
Over 4,000 runners took on the brand-new XC course behind Spire, and the atmosphere was absolutely unreal. You truly had to be there to understand the energy and excitement surrounding this event!
The Showcase races were run completely in the dark, with the course lined by lights and HOKA illuminated across the trees 🌳. Add in DJ Jeremy music 🎶 pumping throughout the venue, and it created one of the coolest race environments around.
Our Mentor XC athletes came ready to compete, and they delivered! 🔥

A huge thank you to the GCXC Racing Cleveland volunteers and staff for putting together such an incredible event and ensuring a safe experience for athletes and spectators alike.

It’s time to get ready for our combined home meet of the season with both middle schools and the high school!

🏃 Mentor Cardinal Classic
📅 Saturday, September 5th
📍 Garfield Park
This is the only meet where all three Mentor XC programs compete on the same day together, along with 40+ visiting teams.
We need volunteers throughout the day to help with concessions, course marshaling, crossing guards, parking, and donation collection to ensure a safe and successful event.

⏰ Race Schedule
8:45 AM – Varsity Boys SCARLET
9:15 AM – Varsity Girls SCARLET
9:45 AM – Varsity Boys GREY (B Race)
10:20 AM – Varsity Girls GREY (B Race) / Open HS Girls
11:00 AM – Open HS Boys
11:40 AM – Middle School Girls (2 Miles)
11:45 AM – High School Awards
12:10 PM – Middle School Boys (2 Miles)
12:40 PM – Middle School Awards

Please check with your athlete and/or coach for updates AND for what time your athlete needs to arrive AND what race they are in. Our club board will not know what races each athlete is in, so please 🙏🏼 check communication from your school’s coach.

Garfield Park parking is limited and construction may impact access, so plan accordingly.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make our annual Mentor XC Pasta Dinner Fundraiser such an incredible success!
From donating baskets and gift cards, purchasing dinner tickets, volunteering your time, and simply showing up to support our athletes, every contribution made a difference.
We're so grateful to our families, volunteers, athletes, coaches, caterer, friends, and local business owners for their generosity and support of our XC teams.
Special shout-outs to Jackie for her beautiful photography and Michelle for jumping in to help, even without a XC runner in the program. We appreciate you both so much!

We're expecting 500+ attendees and can't wait to celebrate with our XC community!
Event starts at 5:30pm.
We will be serving until 7:30pm.

Each family is asked to bring a dessert serving approximately 12 people.
This is the only food item we ask families to bring. Everything else is handled by our caterer.

🔹 Tickets 🎟️ Bring your pre-paid pasta dinner tickets for entry to the serving line.🥡 Take-out containers available if you can't stay.

🚨 HELP 🆘
I am actually begging this time…
Our annual XC Pasta Dinner is tomorrow night and this will be the largest turnout in a few years!
We literally only have a couple hours once school ends to bibbidi bobbidi boo 🪄 turn the cafeteria into an Italian kitchen.
Despite our best hopes, dreams, and repeated 📧 reminders, we are still in need of volunteers.
Apparently the tables won't magically set themselves, the baskets 🧺 won’t just appear with a snap 🫰 of fingers, the raffle ticket seller fairies 🧚‍♀️ can’t just “appear”.

If you've ever enjoyed a meal, know someone who has enjoyed a meal, or simply want to be part of the organized chaos that helps support our cross-country teams, we'd love your help!
We need volunteers for setup, selling, ticket taking, and generally preventing the event from turning into a carb-fueled survival challenge 😮‍💨.

Many hands make light work, and the faster we all pitch in, the sooner everyone gets to enjoy the pasta and go home 🏠!
