🔥 Elite Finish to an Elite Career 🔥
Senior Michael Maynard competed in the Elite heat of the 1600m at the Midwest Elite Meet at Baldwin Wallace and absolutely delivered ~ running a blazing 4:15.5 for a huge PR and a 4th-place finish! 💪
This race officially closes out an incredible senior season as a Mentor Cardinal, surrounded by teammates who came out to show their support.
So proud of everything Michael has accomplished with this team.
He’s going to be missed! ❤️🖤🏃🏻‍♂️

Part of being a great runner is more than just logging miles; it’s strength, conditioning, and mobility. 💪🧘‍♂️ 🏋🏼‍♀️
Our Mentor runners kicked off summer the right way by showing up for their first optional evening lifting and mobility workout.
These athletes will learn proper form and technique and how to use equipment properly.
Awesome turnout and even better energy!
Cross country training starts NOW.
The habits built in the summer become the confidence you race with in the fall.

🏟️ What a Weekend at the OHSAA State Track & Field Meet 🏟️
Here are some extra photos from the weekend!! 📸
What an incredible way to close out the season. This weekend was filled with unforgettable moments, hard-earned performances, and an atmosphere that reminded us why this sport is so special.
From Mentor athletes cheering loudly in the stands, to family and friends showing their support, to those following along at home on the live stream 💻 the energy was real and it was felt by everyone competing. When a community comes together like that, it lifts athletes to another level.
Track and field is about more than results. It’s about commitment, resilience, and showing up day after day to chase improvement.
The season may be over, but the lessons learned, the bonds formed, and the memories made this weekend will last far beyond the final meet.
Congratulations to our athletes and coaches on an amazing season.
Thank you to everyone who supported along the way. This one is going in the memory books. 👏❤️ 🏃🏻‍♂️ 💪🏻

🏟️ State Meet Recognition | Field Events
Qualifying for the OHSAA State Track & Field Meet is no small feat, and these field athletes earned every bit of that opportunity through dedication, consistency, and belief in the process.
✨ Sophomore High Jumpers Martez Higgins and Braydon Parker qualified for the state meet proving that confidence and composure can take you to new heights.
💪 Sophomore Shot Put Preston Melvin launched 50‑09.25, earning a 13th place finish among the best throwers in the state.
Field events demand patience, discipline, and mental toughness.
Progress is built rep by rep, jump by jump, throw by throw often when no one is watching.
Making it to the state meet is proof that the work mattered.
Proud of these athletes for representing Mentor and competing on Ohio’s biggest stage. The future is bright, and this is only the beginning. 👏🔥

🏅 STATE PODIUM FINISH 🏅
Senior Robert Knutson clears 14‑4 at the OHSAA State Meet, earning 5th place in pole vault!
Pole vault is fearless ~ speed, strength, and belief all meeting in midair. Every jump is a leap of faith, and this one landed on the podium.
So proud of this accomplishment and the work behind it. 📈🔥
