Menomonie FFA attended the 98th National FFA Convention and Expo this past week. More than 71,000 FFA members, advisors, alumni, guests, and supporters from across the nation traveled to Indianapolis. Students attended the sessions at Lucus Oil Stadium, various leadership workshops, and talked with agricultural businesses and colleges at the Expo. Thanks to the Menomonie FFA Alumni for helping to fund a portion of this trip. Special thanks to Kathy and Josh Forster, Brittany Shultz, and Thomas Olson for driving and chaperoning the 12 FFA members. Also congratulations to our American FFA Degree recipient Emily Zukowski. This event will be a cherished memory for many people.

The Menomonie FFA attended the 96th Wisconsin State FFA Convention this week. Turn it Up was the state theme this year with a record breaking state membership of 27,556 members. Attending the convention this year were Menomonie Officers and members: Iris Eckert, Hallie Oslund, Chloe Bablick, Chloe Scheuffele, Annabelle Weber, Ava Hazuga, Rylan Holmstadt, Hunter McNabb, and Madison Kwak. The students had a chance to bond as a team, develop ideas for this years program of activities, learn about FFA opportunities, and listen to inspirational speakers. A very special congratulations goes out to Madison Kwak for earning her State FFA Degree and being recognized on stage as one of the top individuals in the state for her efforts throughout her high school career in the FFA. Very proud of all these outstanding young leaders. Thanks to Mrs. Forester and Mrs. Eckert for chaperoning the group this year.

On Friday May 9, the Menomonie FFA Chapter celebrated the 68th Annual FFA Banquet. A special congratulations goes out to all that were recognized for their achievements this year.

Vegetables and Annual Flowers for sale at Menomonie High School. Support the Agriscience horticultural class. Hours of operation Tuesday May 6 and Monday 12 to Thursday May 15. Time 3:15 to 5 each night. All money raised is used for next year's greenhouse supplies for the students. Thank you for your support.

The Menomonie FFA is currently selling fruit. The students would greatly appreciate your support. Please reach out to an FFA member who is selling to place your order. Or use advisor Jean D'Angelo code listed below in directions. Sale ends November 13. All sales are on line with payment using credit card. Fruit will be delivered to Menomonie High School week of Dec 16. Fruit makes wonderful holiday gifts.

7. Pick your choices of fruit and add to cart
8. When done shopping, go to check out
9. Fill in contact info
10. DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING ON SHIPPING. All fruit comes to MHS.
11. Continue to payment, fill in payment info
12. Fill in Billing Address
13. Click Pay Now
14. You should get a confirmation at top of the screen and they will email a reciept too

The 95th Wisconsin FFA Convention was held this week in Madison. Many FFA members, advisors, parents, alumni, and supporters from across the state attended this wonderful event.

A very special congratulations goes out to Brian Styer for placing 3rd at the State level with his prepared speech. The topic of the speech focused on Artificial Intelligence in Agriculture. Excellent work Brian!

In addition, Emily Zukowski was named State Winner with her SAE project in Swine Production Placement. Emily spent many years growing and developing a strong swine project. A special thanks goes out to her family and friends who supported, encouraged, and helped her achieve this honor. Best of luck to Emily as her application now moves on to National Level.

The Horticulture students have been working hard all semester to prepare for the Menomonie High School plant sale. Please consider supporting the Agricultural Department by purchasing plants. All money generated at this sale will be used to buy seed, soil, pots, and plants for next years Horticulture class. Sale Dates are Monday May 13, Tuesday May 14, and Wednesday May 15. We will be open Thursday and Friday if we are not sold out of plants. Sale will take place from 3:15 to 5 PM each night. Plant sale will be at MHS in the greenhouse located towards the back of the school building. You can drive around back or walk through building to the Agriscience classroom.
