Stout Optimists

Stout Optimists We are a community service and leadership group at stout dedicated to empowering area youth and creating stronger ties between the university and community.

Optimist Clubs are dedicated to "Bringing Out the Best in Kids" and do their part through community service projects. Since each Club is autonomous and run by members in their community, Optimists have the unique flexibility to serve the youth of their area in any way they see fit. Optimist Clubs see a need in their community and react to it. Optimists strive to live up to their name and maintain an upbeat attitude, which they try to pass along to the children they serve.

With the warmer weather here and the snow gone, some cleaning up needed to be done! The Stout Optimists did an area cleanup last Monday to help get the community ready for warm weather and outdoor activities.

The Stout Optimists participated in the Involvement Fair yesterday and are hoping for some more members! Our next meeting is February 8th at 6pm in the Willow Room of the MSC. If you're interested in volunteering throughout the community, we hope to see you there!

UNKEGGED 2012 is officially set for December 7th! Invite all of your friends to come to the basement of HKMC from 7-9 to play some fun games and indulge in all kinds of free rootbeer fun such as rootbeer pong, rootbeer flip cup, and a rootbeer chugging contest.
