It's getting closer and closer! Two weeks from tomorrow is our next pageant! We will have two young ladies, Amber Schmidt and Abby Lane-Pocious competing for the title of Ms. Wheelchair Wisconsin 2018. And, this year, we're excited to announce that we will have Ms. Wheelchair America 2018, Sheri Melander Smith, as our emcee! We'll have lunch by 1 o'clock, then the girls will give their speeches leading up to the crowning of our next titleholder. We hope you can come to cheer on the girls and enjoy the event.

During Hurricane Harvey in August, a striking image went viral: Nursing home residents sitting in waist deep floodwaters, surrounded by floating debris, an angry cat in the background. The Harvey flooding victims (and the cat) were

We're in the waiting stage right now for contestant applications to come in the mail. I'm excited to see what these applications will tell us about the young ladies who are applying this fall for the Ms. Wheelchair Wisconsin 2018 Pageant.

In other news, our current titleholder, Ms. Wheelchair Wisconsin 2017, Myranda Gereau, and I are working on the website for Ms. Wheelchair Wisconsin. We just finished our first collaborative session for the website and it was fun. We'll announce soon when it is ready to view!

It's hard to believe that we're only two months away from our next Ms. Wheelchair Wisconsin pageant! The Ms. Wheelchair Wisconsin 2018 Pageant will take place on November 4th, and we will have a Junior Miss starting at this pageant, too!

Five applications have been sent out and I'll announce them as their completed applications come in the mail. But, I'm pretty confident that they will be. Once each application is received, then it becomes official. Of course, if anyone else is interested in getting an application, I'll be glad to send it out. I'll send out application up to the middle of September.

Speeches are coming up shortly, so "Like" the page!

Since 1972, our titleholders have worked to remove the barriers disabled people face daily.

Tonight's speech night at the Ms. Wheelchair America 2018 Pageant! Our Ms. Wheelchair Wisconsin 2017, Myranda Gereau, will probably be the first one up as in other years because they do the alphabet (state's names) backwards. You need to get onto the Ms. Wheelchair America page to hear their speeches, because they're doing a Facebook Live for their speeches. I'll write after while to share that with everyone, if you haven't "Liked" it yet.
