Sunday Funday with the 4-H Families. The group did a little “Outdoor Living” unit today. First the group gathered firewood and built a very successful fire on the beach , followed by some fishing. There were lots of nibbles but only one fish was landed, but it was a good one! For those that chose not to fish, the pond provided the perfect setting to just sit and enjoy the beautiful day.

Members of the Mendota Agri Kids 4-Club gathered at Mendota's Tri County Fairgrounds to kick off their club year. Members learned about completing a project, working with paper airplanes. Members planned and designed their aircrafts, tested their best designs and chose which planes they would compete with. Then each member took a turn sailing their vessel while other members measured and recorded their results. Following the competition, members enjoyed a pot luck meal and discussed upcoming events, including their major fund raising activity - the “scare at the Fair” demolition derby to be held October 6 at the fairgrounds. 4-H Enrollment begins October 1 and new members are always welcome.

Lainey said her goodbyes to Puppy Lainey tonight. Puppy Lainey, Stephanie and Parker are flying to Fairbanks, Alaska to deliver her to her new mom, Jody, in the morning.
