We represent the business voice for our members with regard to local, state and national issues, promote business growth and development within the Mendota area community, and work with our members, and governments to build a healthy business climate. The Mendota Chamber of Commerce, established in 1945, is a not-for-profit organization of businesses representing industry, retail, service, profess
ionals, and agriculture in partnership with tourism and government to further promote economic growth and quality of life in Mendota. Both large and small businesses are represented and influence the direction of the organization. Sponsoring community events and promoting tourism such as Mendota's Annual Sweet Corn Festival (one of the largest harvest festivals in the Midwest), annually attracting more than 60,000 visitors to Mendota is also an important role of the Chamber. The Chamber office organizes the hundreds of volunteers necessary for this and other smaller events during the year. The Chamber acts as a community information center, answering a variety of questions daily from the public.
