Tomorrow's the day! We will have 8 trucks lining the 800 block of Illinois Avenue waiting to offer you some delicious food. We will also be starting our Night Market. Vendors will line the sidewalks and some of our businesses may just be opening their doors during our Food Truck Mania and Night Market from 4-8PM.

Every 4th Monday from May until October we will be having a Night Market and encouraging our downtown businesses to stay open.

No need to worry about cooking for tomorrow! Come enjoy some delicious food and then stop at the vendors to see what you need to take home:)))

Two years ago, through our Community Heart and Soul surveys, the people of Mendota made it clear that they love our lakes and the communion with nature they provide. The Mural Project has grown out of that.

The building at 728 Main Street is being prepped for one of two new murals that will celebrate local flora and fauna, which will be dedicated in an event on June 14 from 11:00-4:00.

These new murals are in conjunction with World Migratory Bird Day, and are part of the Audubon Mural Project, a public-art initiative that beautifies communities and celebrates bird life while also drawing attention to their vulnerability to climate change. All of the bird species featured in the Audubon Mural Project have been identified in Audubonā€™s birds and climate change report, "Survival By Degrees,ā€ to be in danger. If the earthā€™s average temperature rises by three degrees celsius, we will no longer see Eastern Meadowlarks in Mendota. Go to audubon.org/climate/survivalbydegrees to learn more and search other bird species.
