Excited to share a picture of our Unity 6th grade band students in front of all the instruments that were donated to help promote our band program. Special thanks to:
Sue Woodruff, Beth Cornwell, Mike and Donna Jansen, Donald Winget, Ruth Shupe, Liz Eyelrs, Dan Kretzer Family, Richard Loos & Marcheta Brecht to name a few for their donations. The Foundation will ensure the instruments get refurbished and placed back with the band teacher to provide to those students that wouldn't have had the opportunity other wise to participate in band.

The Unit Four Foundation has launched a community-wide Instrument Drive throughout the month of February to support music students at Unity High School and the entire school district. The initiative seeks donations of band instruments to ensure more students have the opportunity to participate in music programs regardless of financial barriers. Monetary donations will also be accepted to support instrument repairs and purchases.
Donations can be dropped off at Unity High School during regular school hours or at Mealiff Insurance & Financial Services, 402 W. Collins in Mendon from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Alex Robbins, Unity High School Music Director, said access to instruments is critical for student success in the music program.
The Foundation will pay to have the instruments refurbished.

Mrs Wellman’s science class used up the last bit of her grant money purchasing supplies for the last Mad Scientist Day and replenished her stock items that are used in both STEM and Science labs! This is one example the Foundation is helping our teachers to make it the best experience for our students.

Here are some pictures from our last Mad Scientist Day- Detective Style!

Sharing some pictures from Emily Wellman’s classroom utilizing the grant money the Unit 4 Foundation gave for the 7/8 grade science classroom library (the books came in this week!) and for lab supplies!

They had their "Cellular Mad Scientist Day" today and they used the grant money for lab supplies for it! The students used a special bubble solution to demonstrate how the surface of a cell membrane is flexible and fluid, material can pass directly across the membrane, a cell has smaller membrane bound organelles in it, cells can communicate with other cells, and that materials can pass through protein channels!
