Troop One is very proud to share that Noah Garrant has officially earned his Eagle Scout this evening! Noah is the 106th Eagle Scout in the Troop's 100 year history. Noah started his Scouting journey in 1st grade as a Cub Scout, went on to Boy Scouts with Troop 14 in Bellingham, and later transferred to Troop 1 Mendon. Noah's Eagle project was to raise funds for and acquire sports equipment for youth in foster care as a way to play sports, help make friends, and participate in their community. Noah is a Senior at Whitinsville Christian School, a three season varsity athlete, a member of the National Honor Society, Captain of his Robotics team, and now an Eagle Scout. Noah plans to attend WPI in the Fall, majoring in Robotics.
Eagle Scout is the ultimate achievement in Scouting that less than 4% of all Scouts attain. To earn the rank of Eagle, Scouts must progress through the ranks to show proficiency in outdoor and life skills, earn a minimum of 21 merit badges, lead their fellow scouts (outdoor activities, skills, values, mentorship), plan and execute a meaningful service project and finally pass a Board of Review with senior Council/National Adult Leaders. It takes the average Scout 4-6 years to complete these requirements.
Congratulations again to Noah! We are all very proud of you!
