GREEN MTN PUG RESCUE GMPR covers Maine, NH, VT and Northern NY. We are an all volunteer rescue group saving pugs 🐾 They receive vet care too if needed. Thanks to all the volunteers!

Green Mountain Pug Rescue is a 501 (c) (3) non profit rescue group of volunteers within Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine & parts of New York. Pugs come to us from Owner Surrenders, Shelters, other rescues, and from puppymill breeders that turn them into us, etc. They are placed in loving foster homes for their evaluation on their personalities and what home would be best suited for them. GMPR covers all shots, Hw/lyme tests, bloodwork prior to surgery to ensure they are healthy, spay/neuter and dentals if needed. We work to ensure that the pug is as healthy as we can get them prior to adoption. If there is anything wrong long-term we will tell you in their bio. Green Mountain Pug Rescue is supported by an all volunteer staff. We are only able to help pugs through the generous monetary donations and volunteer time that people graciously give. If you want to help us with events and such- fill out a volunteer form on our website at GMPR.org. Donations to GMPR go for vet care for the pugs, and anything they need while in GMPR. We work closely with lots of rescues to ensure that all pugs in our area are safe and secure. We educate people on puppymills and what that means. A large % of our pugs here come from puppymills originally and we are very committed to helping these precious pugs learn love, patience, and trust!

Meet Mia, a beautiful 5-year-old black pug with a story of resilience, determination, and so much love to give! 🖤
Mia was once a healthy girl until she developed a serious condition called FCE, which left her paralyzed in her back legs and struggling with incontinence. With extensive veterinary care, physical therapy, and lots of love, Mia fought her way back! Today, she can run, play, climb stairs, and enjoy life again. 🥹❤️
Although Mia still has some weakness in her back legs and needs a little extra care, she is a happy, sweet girl with so much life left to live. Her devoted owner worked tirelessly and spent thousands of dollars helping Mia regain her mobility before lovingly surrendering her so she could have the next chapter she deserves. 💕

💔🐾 MEET CUE – A BRAVE PUG WHO DESERVES A SECOND CHANCE! 🐾❤️
🥹 He was hurt by someone who was supposed to love him. Now we're fighting to help him walk again. 💔

Meet Cue, a handsome 3-year-old fawn pug whose story will absolutely break your heart. Cue's life took a devastating turn when he suffered a serious spinal injury, leaving his back legs paralyzed. 💔 It is suspected that Cue was kicked by his former owner with such force that it ruptured a disc in his spine, taking away his ability to walk.

Imagine being just 3 years old, unable to use your back legs, and being abandoned by the very person who was supposed to protect you. 😢 Thankfully, a compassionate Good Samaritan stepped in and rescued Cue from his heartbreaking situation, eventually helping him find his way to Green Mountain Pug Rescue. ❤️ Now, Cue finally has people who will fight FOR him instead of hurting him. 🥹💕

🐾 CUE'S JOURNEY TO RECOVERY 🐾
Cue has undergone an expensive MRI and evaluation by a veterinary neurologist to determine the extent of his spinal injury. Unfortunately, Cue is not a candidate for surgery. 💔 But that doesn't mean we're giving up on this sweet boy!
There is still HOPE! ❤️ With weight loss, physical therapy, rehabilitation, and TIME, we are hopeful that Cue may regain some mobility and possibly even walk again. 🐾 There are no guarantees, and his recovery could be long and challenging. But we believe Cue deserves every opportunity to heal and experience the life he should have had all along.

💚 CUE ISN'T READY FOR ADOPTION… HE'S JUST BEGINNING HIS HEALING JOURNEY.

Cue will remain in our care for an extended period while we work toward his recovery. His ongoing medical care, rehabilitation, and therapy will require significant financial resources. And that's where we need YOUR help! 🙏❤️

🎉🐾 SCOOBY HAS BEEN ADOPTED… AND HE HIT THE JACKPOT! 🏡❤️

Sometimes the best love stories start with a foster home… and end with a FOSTER FAIL! 😂💕 On October 1, 2026, our handsome 9-year-old Puggle, Scooby, officially became a permanent member of Phil & Judy Douglas's family! 🥳❤️ And this adoption is extra special because Phil and Judy are also dedicated members of the GMPR Board of Directors! 💚🐾

Scooby's journey hasn't been an easy one. 💔 After being abandoned in the woods, he was rescued by a kind Good Samaritan before eventually making his way to GMPR. Despite everything he'd been through, Scooby never lost his BIG personality or his ability to love! 🥹❤️

When Phil and Judy welcomed Scooby into their home as a foster, they probably didn't realize they were about to meet their newest family member! 😂 But Scooby had other plans! With his larger-than-life personality, endless charm, and love for being close to his humans, he quickly worked his way into their hearts. Before long, Phil and Judy were completely smitten! 💕

This smart, affectionate little gentleman loves car rides with his head out the window, being told what a good boy he is, and keeping his favorite humans close! 🚗💨 And while Scooby may have limited vision, he certainly has no trouble finding his way into someone's heart! 🥰 Scooby has some special needs around mealtime, but Phil and Judy understand him and are committed to giving him the safe, loving home he deserves. ❤️ From being abandoned in the woods to finding a forever family who absolutely adores him… Scooby's story has come full circle! 🥹💕

💚 We are incredibly grateful to Phil and Judy, not only for their dedication and service on the GMPR Board, but also for opening their hearts and home to another rescue dog in need. They have given Scooby something truly priceless — a family to call his own!

🎉🐾 DOUBLE THE PUGS, DOUBLE THE LOVE… MOMO & BARRON HAVE BEEN ADOPTED! 🏡❤️

💕 TWO BROTHERS. ONE INCREDIBLE BOND. ONE VERY SPECIAL FOREVER HOME! 💕

On September 25, 2026, our adorable 7-year-old bonded black pug brothers, Momo & Barron, officially found their happily ever after with Mary and Ed! 🥹❤️ And this adoption has an EXTRA special story! 💚

Mary and Ed attended our Annual Pug Social on September 19, where they met Momo and Barron and completely fell in LOVE! 😍🐾 Apparently, these two handsome boys worked their pug magic, because just six days later, they were officially part of the family! ❤️

Mary and Ed are longtime GMPR alumni who have opened their hearts and home to rescue pugs before. Even more exciting, they've recently rejoined our Board of Directors! 🎉 We are SO happy to have them back on the board and grateful for their continued love and dedication to our rescue! 💕

🐾 A LITTLE ABOUT OUR DYNAMIC DUO!
Barron is the confident, outgoing social butterfly who loves walks, treats, and making new friends! He's also Momo's biggest supporter and personal cheerleader. ❤️

Momo is the gentle, sensitive sweetheart who takes a little time to warm up, but once he does, he's all about the LOVE! His favorite place in the world is right beside his brother. 🥰

Watching these two snuggle together while Barron gives Momo sweet little kisses is enough to melt anyone's heart! 💋🐾
These boys have spent their entire lives side by side, and thanks to Mary and Ed, they'll never have to be apart! ❤️
Now their days will be filled with cozy naps, sunny spots, leisurely walks, plenty of treats, and all the snuggles their little pug hearts can handle! And knowing Barron, he'll probably be supervising everyone's dinner too! 😂🍗

🎉🐾 PATRICK HAS BEEN ADOPTED! 🏡❤️

From a heartbreaking beginning to a BEAUTIFUL happily ever after! 🥹💕 On September 21, 2026, our adorable, floppy-eared, 4-year-old Pug mix Patrick officially found his forever home with Melanie and Phil! 🎉❤️

Patrick came to GMPR from a hoarding situation, covered in fleas, with irritated skin and missing fur. 💔 Despite his rough start, this little guy had nothing but LOVE to give! And when we say love, we mean STAGE 5 CLINGER LEVEL LOVE! 😂💕 Patrick believes personal space is overrated! His favorite sleeping position? Tucked under the blankets, head on your pillow, snuggled against your neck, and preferably being held like a baby! 🍼🐾

This little lovebug enjoys sunbathing, car rides, running around outside, and ALL the snacks he can get his paws on! 🍗☀️ But his absolute favorite thing? Being glued to his humans and soaking up every ounce of attention! Who needs toys when you have a perfectly good lap to snuggle in?! 😂❤️

Through the love of his foster family, Patrick discovered the joys of being a cherished dog — running outside, learning to walk on a leash, and experiencing the comfort of a loving home. 🥰

Now, thanks to Melanie and Phil, Patrick gets a lifetime of everything he deserves — warm beds, full bellies, endless cuddles, and unconditional LOVE! ❤️

Our adorable, wiggly, snack-loving 1.5-year-old Frenchton, Rubble, officially hit the jackpot when he was adopted by Cara and her family at our Annual Pug Social on September 19, 2026! 💕🐶

This handsome little dude came into rescue with a whole lot of personality, a love for cheese 🧀, and a mission to perfect the art of playing hard for 10 minutes before taking a very important nap! 😂💤

During his time in foster care, Rubble mastered the essentials of being an amazing little companion — making doggy friends, enjoying walkies, supervising his humans, raiding his toy basket, and becoming a certified couch-snuggling professional! 🥰

And now? He's got a FOREVER family to share all those adventures, snacks, and snuggles with! ❤️

Honestly? Not much! Just a cozy home, a warm lap, lots of kisses, and humans who will love her like the precious little queen she is! 👑 Lulu isn't asking for long hikes or wild adventures. She'd much rather spend her days snuggling, sunbathing, taking the occasional car ride, and reminding you just how much she LOVES you! 🥰

🩺 A LITTLE PUG MAINTENANCE: Lulu previously had airway surgery that greatly improved her breathing. She also has a history of vaccine sensitivity, so her future family will need to keep that in mind with their veterinarian.

💗 THE BOTTOM LINE?
Lulu is basically a tiny, squishy, four-legged love muffin who wants to be someone's whole world! 🧁🐾 She's sweet. She's snuggly. She's ridiculously adorable. And she's ready to steal your heart AND your favorite spot on the couch! 😂❤️
