Green Mountain Pug Rescue is a 501 (c) (3) non profit rescue group of volunteers within Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine & parts of New York. Pugs come to us from Owner Surrenders, Shelters, other rescues, and from puppymill breeders that turn them into us, etc. They are placed in loving foster homes for their evaluation on their personalities and what home would be best suited for them. GMPR covers

all shots, Hw/lyme tests, bloodwork prior to surgery to ensure they are healthy, spay/neuter and dentals if needed. We work to ensure that the pug is as healthy as we can get them prior to adoption. If there is anything wrong long-term we will tell you in their bio. Green Mountain Pug Rescue is supported by an all volunteer staff. We are only able to help pugs through the generous monetary donations and volunteer time that people graciously give. If you want to help us with events and such- fill out a volunteer form on our website at GMPR.org. Donations to GMPR go for vet care for the pugs, and anything they need while in GMPR. We work closely with lots of rescues to ensure that all pugs in our area are safe and secure. We educate people on puppymills and what that means. A large % of our pugs here come from puppymills originally and we are very committed to helping these precious pugs learn love, patience, and trust!

What a pug-tastic day! 💦☀️ GMPR held a Pug Beach Party at Pug Camp today, and we had so much fun celebrating with our amazing pug community!
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out to support the rescue! Your love and support mean the world to us. 💚

And, of course, the highlight of the event was the Pug Swimsuit Contest! 👙🐶 So many adorable pugs showed up, strutted their stuff, and absolutely slayed the runway in their swimsuits! 😂🏆

We’re pretty sure these pugs have officially earned the title of best-dressed beachgoers! 🌴😎

🖤🖤 Meet Momo & Barron! 🖤🖤

Double the pugs. Double the love. Double the snuggles.

These 7-year-old bonded black pug brothers have spent their entire lives together, and now they're looking for a forever family who will love them both just as much as they love each other. ❤️

🐾 Barron is the confident, outgoing big brother who greets everyone with a wagging tail and a happy smile. He loves walks, treats, and making sure Momo knows everything is going to be okay.

🐾 Momo is the sweet, gentle soul of the pair. He can be a little shy at first, but once he trusts you, he's incredibly affectionate. His favorite place in the world? Right next to Barron. Watching these two cuddle and seeing Barron give Momo little kisses will absolutely melt your heart.

These boys are everything you could ask for:🖤 Great with other dogs🖤 Friendly and affectionate🖤 Excellent at the vet🖤 Wonderful on leash walks🖤 Quiet travelers in the car🖤 Love cuddles and being close to their people🖤 No food or toy aggression (although Barron does think everyone's dinner belongs to him! 😂)

They're making great progress with house training and thrive on a consistent routine. Because they adore being with their people, they'd do best in a home where someone is around much of the day. Whether they're following you from room to room, soaking up the sunshine, or snuggled together for a nap, these boys simply want to be loved.

Some bonds are forever... and Momo and Barron's is one of them. 🥹🖤 If you open your heart to these two, you'll receive twice the loyalty, twice the laughs, and twice the love.

🐾❤️‍🩹 WHEN THEY NEED US MOST… ❤️‍🩹🐾

The last couple of days have been BUSY for GMPR, with an influx of dogs coming into our care. But two of our newest arrivals especially reminded us why rescue matters.

🖤 First came Patrick.
This sweet black pug came from a bad situation and arrived absolutely covered in fleas and likely has worms. 😢 He needed immediate care, relief, and most importantly—a safe place to land.

Less than 24 hours later, another call came in. 📞
🐶 A Frenchie desperately needed help. This poor pup is dealing with a serious skin condition, ear infection, painful hot spots, an ear hematoma, and more. 💔 Once in our care, he went straight to the ER vet.

These are the tough cases. The ones that take time, patience, veterinary care, medications, and a whole lot of love. But this is exactly why we are here. ❤️

Patrick and our new Frenchie will likely be with GMPR for quite some time while we focus on getting them healthy. Adoption can wait.

Right now, their only job is to rest, heal, and learn that they are safe. 🥹🐾❤️

Our sweet Jag, aka Hippo 🦛, has officially found the loving home he deserves! 🏡❤️

On July 31, 2026, Jag was adopted by Wendy! 🎊 Wendy is an experienced pug owner who is also familiar with caring for dogs with myelopathy like Jag, making this such a wonderful match for our special guy. 💕🐾

Jag came to GMPR from a difficult backyard breeding situation, but despite his past, this approximately 8-year-old fawn French Bulldog has always been one big bundle of LOVE. 🥰 From day one, he has been a total snugglebug—following his people everywhere, asking for belly rubs, and making sure he never misses an opportunity for attention! 😂❤️

And now he gets to spend his days doing exactly what he loves most! 🙌

Jag requires a little extra care because of his spinal condition and arthritis, but he couldn't have landed in better hands. Wendy understands his needs and is ready to make sure this handsome Hippo stays comfortable, spoiled, and loved. 💊💙🐾

After everything Jag has been through, his breeding days are behind him and his BEST days are just beginning! 🎉

From backyard breeding dog to beloved family member — Skye is HOME! ❤️🏡

On July 19, 2026, Skye officially joined Ryan and his family, and we couldn’t be happier for this sweet girl!

For the first four years of her life, Skye knew very little kindness. She came to us all the way from Miami, Florida, where she had spent her life outside in the Florida heat being used to produce puppies. But that chapter of her story is officially CLOSED. 💕

Skye’s new life is going to look very different! Since Ryan works remotely, she’ll have a human home with her throughout the day for plenty of attention and snuggles. She also has a pug sibling to cuddle with and a human sibling to play with! 🐶❤️

After everything she has been through, Skye finally gets to experience what life should have always been about.

We may not be able to change the first chapter of Skye’s story, but we know the rest is going to be a beautiful one.

Congratulations, Skye and family! Here’s to your beautiful new beginning! 🎉🐾❤️

💕 Meet Sassy! 💕

Don’t let the name fool you… okay, maybe let it fool you just a little. 😆 Sassy is a 7-year-old fawn pug with a big personality and an even bigger heart.

This sweet girl loves walks, car rides, and spending time with her people. She’s housebroken, crate trained, and ready to trade in her days of raising puppies for a lifetime of being spoiled. 💖

Now for the “Sassy” part… she likes to be the queen of the castle! 👑 Sassy would thrive as an only dog where she can soak up all the attention, or with a calm, submissive canine companion. She’s confident, knows what she wants, and isn’t afraid to let the other dogs know she’s in charge.

Sassy will also resource guard her food, so mealtimes and treats should be managed appropriately by feeding pets separately. With the right routine, she’ll be set up for success.

If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick who will keep you smiling, join you on adventures, and happily rule your home with love (and a little attitude), Sassy is your girl!

🤠❤️ Clyde Hit the Jackpot! ❤️🤠

Some dogs don't just find a forever home... they find the family they were always meant to have.

On July 12, 2026, Clyde officially became the newest member of the Rafferty Outlaws after being adopted by our amazing alumni, Judy and Brian! 🎉🐾

If there's anyone who understands that the best things in life are worth a little extra patience, it's Judy and Brian. Time and time again, they've opened their hearts and home to dogs who need a little more understanding, a little more grace, and a whole lot of love. They have a special place in their hearts for the underdogs, and we knew from the moment they met Clyde that this was something truly special.

Clyde may have started his journey as a scared little guy who wasn't sure the world was a safe place, but now he has exactly what he's always needed—a family that will move at his pace, celebrate every victory, and love him unconditionally through every step of his journey.

As the newest Outlaw, Clyde has already found his place in the pack, surrounded by siblings who will help show him the ropes and parents who understand that trust isn't given overnight—it is earned with kindness, patience, and unwavering love.

We couldn't have dreamed of a more perfect ending for this incredibly deserving boy.

Congratulations, Judy and Brian! Thank you for once again opening your hearts to a dog who needed someone to believe in him. We know Clyde's future is brighter than ever.
