My daughter Kelly is trying to raise money for her entrepreneurial class group she is in. True to her core interests, it's for animals, specifically, the Deland Animal shelter. New Hope Animal Shelter is always full and in need of donations to continue to care for homeless animals in Volusia county, Florida. I know I have a lot of animal lover friends, if you'd like to make a donation, would very much appreciate it, and so would the dogs!

Who Are The Schnackys?

Started 35+ years ago by Travis & Kathy Piper and Msg. Schnacky, members of the parish community display their many theatrical talents with an annual play. Performances are held in February and all are welcome to join in the fun either by acting, making costumes, building sets, or serving the night of the show. Previous experience not necessary.

Did you know...each year, nearly 100 people get involved with our productions? Some are parishioners, some are non-Catholics, some are friends of friends. All are people interested in having fun and meeting new people. Rehearsals take place during the winter months which really makes the winter fly by. We write most of our own material and are always looking for new scripts and ideas.

We start work on the musical numbers Sunday afternoons in November and "open" mid-February for three fun-filled weekends.

In 1981, new parishioners Kathy and Travis Piper invited Monsignor Schnacky to dinner. The Pipers had met through Community Theater. During the evening, it was mentioned that perhaps, someday, it might be fun to put on a Play at St. Catherine's.
