The Mendon Fire Department is seeking applications for a vacant Firefighter/Paramedic positions. The ideal candidate would be a firefighter I/II certified paramedic. We will accept applicants that are Firefighter I/II certified with expected paramedic certification within a year of the date of hire, and Paramedics willing to attend the Massachusetts Fire Academy. It is with heavy hearts that the Northbridge Fire Department needs to share difficult news about one of our own. Deputy Fire Chief Tony Genga, a beloved leader and brother in service, has been diagnosed with Adult T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (T-ALL). Tony has already begun his treatment and has a long battle ahead of him. Tony started with the Northbridge Fire Department nearly 25 years ago. Over those 25 years, Tony has cared for and protected so many people. It’s now our turn to return the favor.

Alongside him, every step of the way is his loving wife Kristy, his son Kam, and his daughter Makenzie. Their strength as a family is inspiring, and we are committed to standing alongside them throughout this journey.

We ask our community to keep Tony and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Your support means the world to us, and we know it will mean even more to the Genga family during this challenging time. In the coming days, weeks, and months, we will be raising money that will directly support Tony and his family. If you can, please help out.

As you all may have seen from the Mendon Fire Department and the Mendon Fire Fighters IAFF Local 4936 pages, one of our brother firefighters from Northbridge Fire Department will be fighting Leukemia. Even though he will not be fighting this alone, the association has decided to donate a portion of the funds from our scratch ticket raffle to be drawn in December directly to him and his family to help support them in their battle.  If you haven’t already, please consider purchasing raffle tickets to help support them and as always, the association will also accept donations in addition to the raffle. Any donations made outside of the raffle will automatically be donated to them with the portion from the raffle.

The holidays are coming and having the chance for a little extra cash for all those presents is ideal. We will be starting our scratch ticket raffle within the next week.

We are a non profit and all proceeds from the raffle will benefit the members of the association by helping to offset some of the costs in providing the necessary training and equipment for our members to stay safe and serve the citizens of the town.

If you would like tickets, we can be reached on both Facebook and Instagram or they will be able to be purchased from any Fire Department member at the station.
