Hi Friends! Do you have a 14-18 year old looking for some last minute service hours? Or are you looking to get involved in your community? Next Monday and Tuesday (8/18 & 19) (hours TBD), we need "touch up" painters to spend 1-2 hours assessing the doors/trim throughout Miscoe Hill Middle School and touching up any areas that have been scratched, peeled or marred. We are in the process of planning our next WE CARE Miscoe project and we need lots of hands to make it happen! We're making improvements to our 5th grade bathrooms to instill some pride! I don’t have a ton of “work in progress “ shots as I was painting as well, but I did manage to catch some of our committed WE CARE Miscoe volunteers in action! am grateful to all of them for spending time this week making sure the halls and grounds of Miscoe will look great for our incoming students and staff! They touched up ALL the doors in the school (& paint areas in general), wiped down lockers, ledges and radiators and weeded the front of the school! And they did it quickly…many hands make light work! We are grateful for your service!

Looking for some responsible high school students to perform door and trim paint touch-ups at Miscoe next week. Hopefully, a great opportunity for service hours. (happy to provide documentation) Service is Monday, August 7-Thursday, August 10. Sign up on Sign Up genius below. Meet at Miscoe at noon for directions and supplies. Once checked in and given directions, you will work independently for as long as you'd like, up til 4 pm each day. Students are responsible for the set up of paint, painting supplies and work area as well as for clean up afterwards! Hope your teen will consider helping out. We Care Miscoe strikes again! So grateful to this crew of selfless volunteers who answered our cry for help today! Donna Williamson Shilale and David Shilale manned the U-HAUL and loaded her up with goodies for the teachers and then we recruited last-minute helpers to unload! Justin, Evan, Colby Duncan, Kayla Aubut, Kelley Torrans Aubut, Kendra & Nick, supported by Miscoes helpful custodial crew made this donation possible! The world is a better place with these people in it!! Thank you!!!

Spreading a little We Care Miscoe gratitude and love!!! Thanks to Bob Motuza for assisting with the UHAUL truck rental today, to Steven Aubut, faithful, hardworking We Care Miscoe volunteer who lifted, stacked, hauled in the heat always with a smile on his face and to Dave Ross for thinking of Miscoe’s hard working staff when he was closing down office space! Miscoe is the happy recipient of approximately 30 practically new office chairs, several small filing cabinets and 4 multi-use tables!! Thank you all! PS- even though Steve’s my brother, I didn’t even have to guilt him into helping…he’s always there to lend a hand. PPS We both suck at selfies! Lol!

WE CARE Miscoe needs your help on our next project. (summer 2023 installment) We are creating a MISCOE history wall that will be located in the lobby area. We have a great space to showcase some awesome Miscoe memories. We need the HELP of about 6-8 individuals (adults or responsible students aged 15+) to bring it to life.
Participation on this small committee will NOT be a HUGE time comittment. I anticipate this committee will meet once a month for 60-90 minutes through June to strategize and plan. (remote participation if needed). Lite work in between meetings. Installation in July. We'll host our first meeting Tuesday, Feb 28th at 7pm at Miscoe.
Here are the volunteer skills we need:

1- Professional Graphic Designer (1) We need presentation "how to" and links to appropriate display resources. Without this person to "guide" the committee, this project cannot take place.
2- Historians/Researchers (2-3) to "look back in time" and pick & choose what we will highlight in this project.
3- Planners/Coordinators/Workers (2-3) to add perspective and coordination.
