SPIRITUS Igniting the Faith in Catholic Youth and creating leaders for the church. Job and Internship Opportunities!

SPIRITUS is a dynamic group of young adults called to evangelize thousands of Catholic youth each year through retreats and youth ministry. We are seeking passionate Catholics, 20-29 years of age, who have a love for their faith and want to ignite the faith of others! SPIRITUS missionaries live in community and travel to schools and parishes throughout Wisconsin, inspiring students in grades 2 – 12 through retreats, spiritual programs, bible studies, and parish-based youth and young adult ministry. Missionaries receive ongoing training, spiritual direction, lodging, food, a monthly allowance of $175, health insurance and a $2,000 stipend upon completion of the 9-month program that runs from mid-August to mid-May. We can also work with your university to establish an internship, giving you the added benefit of earning college credit for your service. SPIRITUS missionaries learn valuable evangelization, youth ministry and leadership skills, deepen their faith and discern future callings. This is an awesome opportunity to serve our Lord and help young Catholics grow in faith! To apply, or for more information, visit us at www.spiritusministries.org. Contact our recruiter at [email protected] or (920) 722-8918.

Spiritus missionaries spend two hours every day in prayer. At the Mount Tabor Center, we are blessed to have our own chapel where the transformation of a missionary can take place. We start the work day every Wednesday in praise and worship with Jesus.

“One-on-one prayer with students on retreat has deeply impacted me by allowing me to witness how the Lord meets each student wherever they are in their faith journey. These moments have transformed me by showing me how the Holy Spirit can work through me in ways I never could on my own when I simply open my heart and allow Him to lead.” - Lucia Lammers

Adoration of the blessed sacrament provides students with a beautiful time to pray directly to Jesus. The chaos that high school students experience can be unsettling, but when they rest in the calming presence of our Lord they can find a calm surrender. Students have told us that adoration is that calming presence they need.

“The new generation is not closed off to the Gospel. On the contrary, many, when they rediscover it, want to know it better, because they perceive that within it lies the secret to being truly happy.” - Pope Leo (May 2026)

What do missionaries do after retreat?
They hunt down the mythical Wisconsin hodag!

After the first Choosing the Way retreat, the team went on a little adventure through the streets of Rhinelander to find a piece of Wisconsin folklore.
