SPIRITUS Igniting the Faith in Catholic Youth and creating leaders for the church. Job and Internship Opportunities!

SPIRITUS is a dynamic group of young adults called to evangelize thousands of Catholic youth each year through retreats and youth ministry. We are seeking passionate Catholics, 20-29 years of age, who have a love for their faith and want to ignite the faith of others! SPIRITUS missionaries live in community and travel to schools and parishes throughout Wisconsin, inspiring students in grades 2 – 1

2 through retreats, spiritual programs, bible studies, and parish-based youth and young adult ministry. Missionaries receive ongoing training, spiritual direction, lodging, food, a monthly allowance of $175, health insurance and a $2,000 stipend upon completion of the 9-month program that runs from mid-August to mid-May. We can also work with your university to establish an internship, giving you the added benefit of earning college credit for your service. SPIRITUS missionaries learn valuable evangelization, youth ministry and leadership skills, deepen their faith and discern future callings. Gavon is serving his second year as a SUMMIT Discipleship Intern and is passionate about helping teens feel at home in a Christ centered community. God can not be outdone in generosity, and we see this plainly as our Lord speaks in today’s Gospel: “The measure with which you measure will be measured out to you.”

We know that everything we have is a free gift from God, but sometimes we forget that these gifts do not actually belong to us, but rather to Him, the Giver of all gifts! Once we understand this, our lives become simpler as we see that everything (our homes, our families, our money, our possessions, even our time) belongs to God, and so He is the Lord of all these parts of our lives.

Jesus, help me understand and remember that I don’t need to be worried about what I might lose when I give generously, for You have said the measure with which I measure will be measured out to me.

Elisabeth is leaving Washington for another year with SPIRITUS as a SUMMIT Discipleship Intern. She is wonderful at creating a welcoming place where teens can have fun and deepen their faith.
