The Ag Classes participated in the 2014 Christmas Graham Cracker Ag Farm Contest this past two weeks and the competition was fierce. The Ag Dept would like to auction off the "farms" to the local public having the proceeds go back to the Ag Dept as a donation. Anyone interested please make a big for your favorite one in the comment section. Auction will close on Saturday and will be delivered or picked up Sunday or Monday.
The overall winner and Grand Champion this year is the first one pictured, constructed and designed by freshman: Destiny Morris, Isaac Saiz, Savannah Salas, and Zayne Durden.

The Seitz Fruit that the students ordered will be delivered to the school on Tuesday December 16 at 10:00am
The process will go the same as the meat....students will get your orders and deliver them to you.

Thank you so much for helping out the Menard High School Agricultural Science & FFA. We wouldn't be able to do what we do to educate our students without yall.

The FFA Meat has been delivered and sorted. Orders can be picked up in the Ag Building at the high school today until 5pm. Please have your student or someone come up and pick them up today.
They can be picked up at ANY time today...please come into the building and find Mr. Lawrence before you take it with you.

The meat that we sold for our fall fundraiser from Seitz will be delivered to the school on Monday the 17th between 8-10 am...closer to 8 due to us being his first stop.
If you can come up to the school and pick up your, or friends and families, order that morning it would be fantastic and a major help. If not we will get it delivered to you. Those that wish to help are welcome also. Thank you in advance.

I thought about raising some chickens for the students to learn about and work with....a couple local gentlemen said they would buy them once we raised them up.....well here we go!!!!

50 pullets arrived November 5 and have been growing wonderfully. The students absolutely love them, as do I!!!

The students build the brooder in the pictures and are currently working on a much bigger place, turning an old storage shed into a fully functioning large scale chicken house. We will move the chicks into the bigger house in 4-5 weeks.

The Bench

This bench was made entirely from scrap wood leftover from the making of last year's auction donation.
Dylan Cornet, Cheyenne Martinez, and Cooper Tipton helped out....with the majority of the credit for work and bench design going to Marco Ojeda. It was a blast building and I couldn't be more happy and proud of the result. Great job!!!!!
