Since 2018, we've been producing an event each fall that brings together diverse groups of Memphis musicians in genre-bending collaborative sets, creating a one-of-a-kind night of live music that raises the creative ceiling in our music scene and sparks new artistic partnerships.

Today, that event is getting a glow up - a new look and a new name that beautifully capture what makes it so unforgettable: collaboration.

See ya later, Tambourine Bash - The Co-Lab is here.

Massive thanks to our friends at Archer, the creative minds behind it all.

If you're a Tambourine Bash devotee, good news and rest assured: Nothing else about this magical night is changing, including the opportunity to snag the best possible ticket price before the stacked line-up drops in August.

And if you've never been, trust us on this one: you don't need to wait for the line-up drop. IYKYK. Go ahead, hit the link below to get your earlybird rates at every tier and save the date for October 16 (you read that right - a new night for a new name - Friday October 16)! 🔥

Mak Ro kept putting themselves out there and in 2024, that momentum led them all the way to Toronto. As part of Music Export Memphis’ second NXNE showcase, Mak Ro took everything they’d been learning about touring, live performance, and audience connection and put it to the test in a new city far from home.

Leading up to the festival, they leaned into digital marketing and created different pathways for people in Toronto to discover the band online and get a feel for both the music and the energy of their live show before ever stepping into the venue. They also brought the live rig setup they had spent the past year building and refining in Memphis, allowing them to bring the unique sonic and live experience they had been developing back home into the showcase.

By the time the night of the show arrived, those efforts were already starting to click. New listeners recognized the band, people showed up specifically to see them play, and by the end of the night the crowd was singing and vibing along. The experience opened the door to even more opportunities with NXNE, including another show during the festival and an invitation back for an official showcase in 2026.

Stay tuned for more of Mak Ro’s MEM is TEN spotlight as we continue sharing the moments that helped take their music beyond Memphis.

By the time Mak Ro began their first run of live shows in 2023, they’d already spent four years building their sound together in the studio. The next challenge was figuring out how to bring that layered sonic world to life onstage.

After being selected for Ambassador Access, Mak Ro played their first shows outside of Memphis as part of the cohort tour, including a 1,500-capacity venue in Arkansas. Hearing their music at that scale changed everything.

“We were scared of how people were going to respond to our live set up, but it felt natural and intuitive and we got to be ourselves. And then – we found out about Music Export Memphis. The timing was so right – this is something that could amplify what we’ve built. That gig gave us so much more confidence that our music could translate to these stages.”

Ambassador Access became a crash course in touring, live performance, and community connecting them with other artists, new opportunities, and moments that made the possibility of touring feel real. This month’s MEM is TEN spotlight follows Mak Ro’s journey from the studio to stages beyond Memphis. Stay tuned for more of their story all month long ✨
