✨ The City Showed Up for Our Neighborhood — and It Was Everything! ✨

On Saturday, May 30th, the City of Memphis and the City of Memphis Innovation Team brought EmpoWER the Block to E. Person Avenue — and our community showed UP. 🙌🏾

This incredible free event was created and brought to life by Jasmine Worles, Andrea Jacobo, and Karen Gause, under the leadership of Mayor Paul Young. From energy-saving resources to free giveaways, food trucks, live music, DIY workshops, and 15+ vendor booths — it was a full day of real investment in real people.

The Magnolia Castalia Community Association was so proud and honored to be a part of this day. Our booth welcomed 254 neighbors — proof that when the city and community come together, magic happens. 💚💛

The community is still buzzing about the generosity of Lowe's, TVA, and every City of Memphis department that showed up and served with excellence. You made a difference that will be felt long after the tents came down.

This is what leadership for the people looks like. We are grateful, we are energized, and we look forward to doing more for the Magnolia Castalia community we love. 🏘️

Happy Mother’s Day from the Magnolia Castalia Community Association 💐

Today, we celebrate the mothers, grandmothers, bonus moms, aunties, caregivers, and village women whose love, strength, wisdom, and sacrifice help shape our community every single day.

Thank you for the countless ways you nurture, uplift, lead, and pour into the next generation — often without recognition, but never without impact.

We honor you today and always. ❤️

Magnolia Castalia family — near, far, and everywhere in between — this one is for all of us.

Our neighborhood has shaped generations of leaders, families, and stories. Whether you still live on these streets, grew up here, worshipped here, went to Magnolia Elementary, or your business has served this community, you are part of the heartbeat that makes Magnolia Castalia what it is.

On April 25th, we’re coming together for a Spring Brunch dedicated to revitalizing our neighborhood and strengthening the legacy we all share. This fundraiser supports community projects, neighborhood improvements, and the future of Magnolia Elementary.

We’re inviting:

• Former residents who still carry Magnolia Castalia in their spirit
• Alumni from every class year
• Local businesses and partners who believe in community investment
• Community advocates who want to support or learn more about our work
• Leaders and organizers with a tie to the neighborhood
• Anyone connected to Magnolia Castalia who wants to see it thrive

As campaign season brings more attention to neighborhoods across the city, this is a moment for every voice connected to Magnolia Castalia to stand together in unity and pride — not for politics, but for progress.

Expect raffle prizes, class pride, and sponsorship opportunities for those who want to make a meaningful impact.

Mark your calendars, share widely, and let’s show the city what happens when a community moves with one heartbeat and one goal.

Tickets and sponsorship details are coming soon.

Born and raised in the heart of the Magnolia Castalia community, Rachael embodies the strength, resilience, and brilliance of her roots. She carries her community with her in every fight, every initiative, and every victory—proving that where you come from can fuel where you’re destined to go.

We are proud of her. We are inspired by her. And we honor her as a living testament that true leadership is not about titles—it’s about service, sacrifice, and standing boldly for those who need it most.
