Dear Champions of Inclusion,

My name is Jessica Johnson, and I’m writing as a passionate community member and supporter of the work of Family Voices of Tennessee a 501C3 non-profit. I’m excited to share that our 3rd Annual Sensory Santa 2025 event is coming up! I have chosen to initiate a fundraising effort for this event, where I serve as an independent co organizer and co host.

What Makes it Special:
• A sensory friendly, relaxing environment
• Space for all abilities
• A Signing Santa who uses ASL
• Meaningful gifts for every participant
• A judgment free space to just enjoy the holidays
• A chance to connect families/caregivers and organizations who share this mission
• We are building a village and community

Over the years, and especially through this event, I’ve seen firsthand the incredible impact Family Voices brings to our community — not only in my professional life, but also personally as an autistic individual, and as a parent whose child has autism and whose other parent is Deaf.

To make this event successful and inclusive for all families, we are seeking sponsors who can provide monetary support or gift donations. Your sponsorship will help us:
• Purchase meaningful gifts for children, teens, young adults at heart, siblings, families/caregivers
• Provide sensory supports and accessibility accommodations
• Ensure the event is truly inclusive for families with varied support need.
If you’d like to be a sponsor, donate gifts, or explore partnership opportunities, I would be delighted to talk further and find the right level of support that works for you.
Please contact me at [email protected] or call (731) 614 9296, or refer to the links below, to support our efforts and make a real difference in our community. Thank you for your consideration and for believing in inclusion and the power of community.

What strategies can I use to amplify this event and inspire more people to contribute? How can I effectively engage my community, family, and friends to help drive donations and make a meaningful impact, especially since I'm new to leading this effort? In previous years, I've been fortunate to receive a generous toy donation pallet, but this year I'm facing a new challenge - how can I build on past successes and rally support from my network?

We are accepting gently used toys, all ages, gifts for teens, and caregiver items like candles, socks, lotions, mugs, spa stuff, notebooks, etc

If you feel moved to help make our Sensory Santa event possible this year, even $1–$5 helps us purchase gifts and create a space where every person — kids, teens, adults, siblings, and caregivers — feels seen, valued, and celebrated.

We want every participant to receive a gift and for families to finally feel included during the holidays — not isolated.

As a child with autism I grew up believing I lived in a world where me and my siblings didnt belong. I know how it felt during the holidays when we didnt get to go to the christmas events, get pictures with Santa, or go get invited to any holiday parties. My mom wanted to take us places, but the reality is we lived in a world where many don't understand us or our needs.

As an adult now with a child with autism myself, I know the the pain and isolation my mom felt. I decided back in 2023, with the help of one of my very close friends, Leah Williamson, I was going to do a Sensory Santa! We went to work!

I didn’t want families to sit at home feeling left out or isolated during what should be a joyful season. I wanted a place where kids could just be kids, where caregivers could take a breath, and where every person — with all diversities and disabilities — is welcomed without hesitation.

This event exists because no family should ever feel like they have to stay home.

It exists because every person deserves a place to belong.

And it exists because I know what it feels like when you don’t.

If you feel moved to help make this possible, even $1–$5 helps us purchase gifts and create a space where every person feels seen, valued, and celebrated.
