Issues Night is a monthly gathering where community members come together to learn about the pressing issues impacting Memphis, hear updates from MICAH’s task forces (Transformational Justice, Housing & Neighborhood Livability, and Immigration/Inclusivity), and find meaningful ways to take action alongside others working toward a more just and equitable city.

Whether you’ve been involved for years or are just beginning to learn about community organizing and advocacy, Issues Night is a great opportunity to connect, stay informed, and build community with people who care deeply about making a difference.

The Shelby County Voter Alliance has booked a Deputy Registrar training class with the Election Commission on June 4th from 5:30 pm-7:00 pm. With Voter Suppression at it's highest level in decades, we need trained deputy registrars to help protect people's right to vote.

Do you need to renew your deputy registrar status? Would you or anyone on your team like to become a deputy registrar? This will be open to the public. We need all hands on deck and many new people that can help with the first step to voting.

MICAH is honored to partner with the National Civil Rights Museum for a special event officially introducing and opening the Bayard Rustin Institute - a powerful recognition of the importance of community organizing and building people power.

THIS SUNDAY from 2-6 pm, join us for our next MICAH training as we celebrate the launch of the Bayard Rustin Institute! Participants will be able to choose between two training tracks: Organizing 101 or Issues & Actions.

This partnership reflects how closely our organizing work aligns with Bayard Rustin’s legacy, vision, and strategies for collective action. Come learn, grow, connect, and organize with us as we continue building a stronger movement for justice in Memphis and beyond.

This is not politics as usual. This is a fight for the soul of our city.

Families are living in fear. Communities are being pushed to the brink. The people most impacted by injustice are too often ignored, silenced, or treated as disposable - and we refuse to stand by quietly while it happens.

MICAH was built for moments like this: to organize, to resist, to love our neighbors fiercely, and to demand a Memphis where every person can live with dignity, safety, and hope.

We are in the fight of our lives, and we need everyone in this movement. Read! Share! Show up! Speak out! The future of our city depends on what we do right now!✊🏽

Protecting the Black Vote is the PRIORITY!
Join Black leaders, organizers, and community members from Memphis and across the South as we come together to PROTECT the Black vote and defend our right to fair representation.

This action is rooted in the truth that when Black voices are silenced, our communities lose power over the decisions that shape our lives.

As Tennessee lawmakers move to redraw district lines, Black communities are once again being targeted for political gain.

In what is set to be a historical movement to protect our communities, our power, and our future, our coalition will make one thing clear: OUR VOTERS ARE NOT UP FOR NEGOTIATION!
