Freedom Preparatory Academy Charter Schools

October is National Principals Month, and we’re taking a moment to celebrate the leaders who help our FPA schools feel like home.

Our heads of school are in classrooms, in hallways, at family events, cheering from the sidelines, supporting teachers, and showing up for students day after day. Their leadership shapes the experience of our entire school community.

To our Freedom Prep school leaders, thank you for leading with care, purpose, and a commitment to what’s possible for every student. We appreciate all that you do!

Help us celebrate our school leaders in the comments! Share a shoutout in the comments for our Freedom Prep school leaders. 🧡

A day late, but our appreciation for our teachers is never late. 🧡

For World Teachers’ Day, we’re celebrating the FPA educators who bring patience, purpose, joy, and high expectations into our schools every day.

Thank you for showing up for our students, cheering them on, challenging them to grow, and helping them see what’s possible.

To our FPA teachers: we’re so grateful for you. Happy !

Meet Caiden Bean, a Freedom Prep Class of 2024 graduate!

Now a student at LeMoyne-Owen College, Caiden is bringing his passion for photography and storytelling back to FPA while continuing to develop his photography and video editing skills and putting what he’s learning at LOC into practice.

This year, Caiden will also lead a special project called Retroactive Eagle, highlighting the stories and journeys of fellow Freedom Prep alumni.

One month down, and our halls have not been quiet for a second.

From kindergarten Eagles in Freedom Prep Academy - Birmingham sounding out their first words to a Freedom Prep Academy - Memphis senior who has been with us since kindergarten and is counting down to graduation, the first month of school has been full of learning, laughter, and families who show up.

We asked our students and families what they are excited about this year. Their answers are heartwarming. 💙

Today, we celebrate the start of ! 🧡

From September 15 through October 15, we’re celebrating the beautiful cultures, traditions, languages, music, food, and stories that make our Freedom Prep community so special.

Across our Tennessee and Alabama campuses, our students and families have roots in Mexico, Puerto Rico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Venezuela, and so many other places. Each story adds something meaningful to who we are as a community.

At Freedom Prep, we believe every student’s story matters. When we celebrate the cultures and traditions within our community, we create a stronger sense of belonging and help students see the value in who they are and what’s possible for their future.

That is part of our work to prepare all students to excel in college and in life.

Happy Hispanic Heritage Month, Freedom Prep families!

📚 September is Attendance Awareness Month!

Every school day is an opportunity to learn, grow, connect, and make progress. When students attend school regularly, they are better positioned to stay on track academically and build strong relationships with their teachers and classmates.

Let’s make every school day count, because every day matters at Freedom Prep!

🧡 Together, let’s make attendance a priority.
