Like You Film Club

Like You Film Club is a year round celebration of movies for kids and their families.

With monthly screenings plus an annual film festival, we create community and conversation around stories that all ages enjoy. Our mission is to equip kids to better understand themselves and the world around them through the power of film and creative media. Our programs support the mental health and emotional intelligence of kids through entertaining and thought-provoking stories that spark wonder and foster resilience.

We are deeply grateful and honoured to share that Nelson the Giant has been selected for the Like You Children’s Film Festival 2026! 🎬✨

This September 11-13, we’ll be heading to Memphis, TN, to share our story on the big screen, and to celebrate alongside filmmakers and families who believe in the power of meaningful storytelling.

Our hearts are full to be part of a festival with such a meaningful mission: supporting children’s emotional growth and mental wellness through the power of film, while fostering empathy, resilience, self-awareness, creativity, and family connection.

A huge thank you to our incredible cast, crew, and community for bringing this project to life with so much heart. This milestone would not be possible without your support.

A big thank you to everyone who came out for our Like You Children’s Film Festival Preview Party! The countdown to the festival begins now, so mark your calendars, buy your passes, and get ready to eat way too much popcorn. A special thank you to Stomping Grounds 901 for sharing their brand new space with us, Wild Beet Salad Company for the yummy pizza, Rattlesnake Betty and Aaron James for the creative crafts, IMAKEMADBEATS for the music, and Jamie harmon for the photo booth fun.

If your child loves movies, storytelling, and sharing their perspective, apply to join the Like You Children's Film Festival Youth Jury.

Youth Jurors get to watch a selection of festival films before anyone else. Then they gather with other kids to discuss the films and select this year's award winners.

Your kid's opinion is a big deal to us..

The Like You Children's Film Festival Youth Jury gives kids ages 6–13 the chance to watch a special selection of festival short films before the festival, discuss what they loved, and help recognize outstanding filmmaking from around the world. It's a fun opportunity to think critically, share ideas, and celebrate stories that make a difference.
