Each year, Slingshot partners with poverty-fighting organizations in Memphis to evaluate their effectiveness and identify opportunities for them to strengthen their outcomes.

We believe that more Memphians need to know what's working in the fight against poverty, so we're excited to spotlight Catholic Charities of West TN!

Catholic Charities of West Tennessee provides emergency services and community support to people and families experiencing poverty across West Tennessee. Through food, clothing, baby supplies, seasonal programs, and outreach for people experiencing homelessness, CCWTN helps meet immediate needs and connect individuals to support across the community.

The Excel Center provides adults with the opportunity and support to earn a high school diploma, pursue industry recognized certifications, and begin postsecondary education. Through flexible learning sessions and wraparound support services, The Excel Center helps reduce barriers and create stronger pathways to career opportunities.

The Collective Blueprint works to increase socioeconomic mobility for Opportunity Youth by building pathways to thriving careers. Through partnerships with schools, employers, and community stakeholders, they help connect young adults to the support, resources, and opportunities needed to succeed.

Su Casa works to connect and empower Latino immigrant families by creating a safe place to learn and grow together. Through ESL classes for adults and bilingual early childhood education programs for children, Su Casa is helping families build financial, educational, and social stability across Memphis.

Room in the Inn - Memphis provides shelter, recuperative care, and support services for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. Through emergency shelter programs, rapid rehousing support, and the region’s only hospital-to-home recuperative care center for people experiencing homelessness, they are helping create safer and more stable pathways forward for Memphians in need.

Nurse-Family Partnership is an evidence-based home visitation program that supports first-time mothers living in poverty through their pregnancy and the first two years of their child’s life. Through specially trained nurses, NFP provides guidance, support, and resources that help create healthier outcomes for mothers, babies, and families across Memphis.

• 5+ years of applicable work experience
• Conduct Impact Studies to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of poverty-fighting organizations
• Build trusted relationships with nonprofit leaders and identify opportunities to strengthen outcomes
• Contribute to technical assistance projects that help organizations implement high-impact improvements
