What a day! We finally had a chance to catch our breath and wanted to share photos from our 2026 Friends of the Poor Walk.

Thanks to our amazing sponsors, supporters, and participants, we reached our $60,000 goal! 🎉

The move to Audubon Park was a big hit. Pavilion 1 was perfect, the walking path was peaceful and scenic, and Memphis even treated us to its first fall-weather weekend of the season. 🍂

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a success. We're already excited for Friends of the Poor Walk 2027! ❤️🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

There's still time to be part of the Friends of the Poor® Walk this Saturday!

Join people across the country as we walk to support our neighbors in need. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul calls those we serve "friends" because every person deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.

Walk with us. Donate if you can. Help us remind those facing poverty that they are seen, valued, and not alone.

By Gloria Hyden. Today touched my heart in a way I didn't expect.

As I handed out tickets for snow cones, chips, and Cracker Jacks, I made it a point to place each ticket directly into the person's hand and look them in the eyes. Those few seconds of personal connection were powerful.

Many of these neighbors are used to receiving things, but today felt different. There was dignity, warmth, and genuine human connection. I found myself getting emotional because I could sense the Holy Spirit in those interactions.

It was a beautiful reminder that ministry often happens in the smallest moments, one person at a time. ❤️🙏🏻

💙 Good hearts. Big smiles. A heart to give back! 💙

We were so blessed to have MUS students choose our St. Vincent de Paul Food Mission for Service Day on September 16!

They prepared and served 200+ meals to our neighbors, sharing not only food, but kindness, compassion, and love. ❤️

Thank you, MUS, for spending your day making a difference! We are so grateful for you! 🙏
