By age 3, children are already forming snap judgments about people's character just from looking at their face. And here's the uncomfortable part: adults do it too, to kids. Research shows children perceived as having a "nicer" looking face get treated more positively by adults, more patience, more warmth, more benefit of the doubt. Let that sit for a second. A child can be judged before she's said a single word.
This is exactly why we don't treat the chair as just about looking good. We treat it as leveling a playing field that was never fair to begin with. When a girl feels put-together and confident in how she shows up, she's not just feeling good, she's changing how the world responds to her before she even opens her mouth.
That's not shallow. That's survival wisdom passed down for generations, dressed up as a hair appointment.
Our girls deserve every advantage the world already hands out for free to someone else. We're just making sure they get theirs.
