Junior Achievement of Memphis and the Mid-South strives to make through educational programs on financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and work readiness. has been dedicated to educating students about entrepreneurship, work readiness, and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs. These activities supplement and reinforce the regular classroom curriculum and correlate with State Department of Education Standards. Junior Achievement’s K-12 programs empower students by helping them understand how to relate what they are learning in school to potential careers as adults.

For National Entrepreneurship Month, we're bringing together some of Memphis' most innovative entrepreneurs for JA Launch Lesson: Memphis Stories in Motion.

We're looking for panelists and career table presenters who can share the real stories behind building a business, pursuing an idea, and overcoming challenges along the way. Your experience could help students see new possibilities for their own futures.

That's why experiences like JA BizTown matter.

This week, students stepped into a real-world community where they made decisions, solved problems, and saw firsthand how their choices impact others.

JA Financial Literacy is a free, ready-to-teach semester course that equips students with practical money management skills while helping educators deliver engaging, real-world financial literacy instruction.

Aligned with Tennessee's financial literacy standards, the course covers topics like budgeting, saving, investing, credit management, and long-term financial planning.

For multiple years running, Team EY US has claimed the JA Fall Bowl-A-Thon title through a combination of teamwork, enthusiasm, and fundraising success.

With just a few weeks until Bowl-A-Thon on October 23, now's the time to:

The businesses are open, the students are in charge, and Junior Achievement BizTown is back!

This week marked our first JA BizTown visits of the school year, as students stepped into real-world roles and experienced what it takes to run a community.

Across the region, students also connected with JA volunteers and local professionals, linking classroom learning to the world around them and the possibilities ahead.

It’s all part of how we’re reimagining education to expand opportunity, giving students more ways to learn by doing and see what’s possible for their future.

Through Junior Achievement volunteer experiences, professionals help students build confidence and make connections between what they're learning today and where they want to go tomorrow.

Workforce Development Month is a reminder that preparing young people for the future takes a community.

We're proud to partner with more than 30 employers across the Mid-South who are helping students gain real-world experiences, build professional skills, and explore possibilities for their futures.

Through JA Career Institute and our Made in Memphis cohort, students are building connections and taking meaningful steps toward career success. Last school year, hundreds of local young people participated in paid work experiences and moved closer to achieving their goals.

A week of discovering what's next.

Across the Mid-South, students spent the week exploring careers, building skills, and making connections that can help shape their futures. Through hands-on learning, career conversations, and leadership experiences, they gained new perspectives and grew their confidence.

Because preparing young people for the future isn't about a single lesson or event. It's about consistently helping them see new possibilities and build the confidence to pursue them.

Thank you to the volunteers, speakers, educators, and partners who invested in students this week and helped expand their view of what's possible.
