Memphis Parks, a division of the City of Memphis, oversees the maintenance and activation of 150 greenspaces and over 30 indoor facilities across 5,600 acres in the Memphis footprint. Its mission is to create positive and safe places to provide community-centered experiences that connect all Memphians, celebrate life, and strengthen mind and body.

Join us for our Cheer Academy Showcase, hosted by the Memphis Parks Athletics Department, on Saturday, June 27, from 10 a.m.–12 p.m. at Ed Rice Community Center! 📣

Watch our amazing teams—Hickory Hill Mavericks, Pine Hill Glow Squad, and Sexton All-Stars—showcase everything they've learned this season. From high-energy cheers and exciting dance performances to sharp motions and crowd-pumping routines, these athletes are ready to shine! ✨

There will also be a jumps contest, where team members will battle it out to see who has the highest jumps, best technique, and strongest form!

No preregistration is required for this FREE event.

Join us for the Lit Meets Rec Publishing Project Class of 2026 Official Book Launch this Saturday, June 6, from 1–3 p.m. at the Douglass Community Center! Come celebrate as 17 Lit Meets Rec participants, ages 5–16, become published authors and are inducted into the Memphis Parks Young Authors Guild. 📚

We will also debut “Once Upon a Memphis Story,” a collection of short stories and poems written by Lit Meets Rec participants that will serve as the official book for Summer Camp 2026. ☀️

Limited spots are available for our fourth annual High School 7-on-7 Football Tournament, hosted by the Memphis Parks Athletics Department! This year’s event will also feature a Big Man Camp. Registration is limited to the first 18 teams. 🏈

Registered teams will have the opportunity to send three linemen to participate in the Big Man Camp, a combine-style environment with skill development and competitive evaluation.

Coaches, register your team to compete for FREE on Saturday, July 18, from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. at Walter May Park! The winning team will receive a $1,500 equipment voucher.

Starting Monday, June 1, kids and teens ages 5–15 can join Play Your Park for the We Back Outside Free Drop-In Summer Camp! Parents, just show up and sign your kids in for activities, games, fun, and free lunch! 🛝
