Thank you to everyone who participated in our 3rd Annual Survival Backpacks for ONE MORE CHILD, an organization that provides assistance to survivors of trafficking in the Memphis and surrounding area. We were blessed to be able to put together 48 backpacks with items donated from the congregation and through a Thrivent Grant. We were also fortunate to have the LWML group from Messiah Lutheran Church join us in gathering and purchasing items that were needed, in addition to helping us fill them. With their help, we were able to purchase more backpacks and will be filling those in addition to the intial 48. Thank you! It was also great to see so many of our CTK youth join in and listen to our speaker about warning signs and what they do to help other youth and adults in various situations. A special shout out to Liam Haggerty for cooking all of our pizzas so we could have an amazing lunch and to our FIA members who are so dedicated to making this happen each year.

We are auction ready! Tomorrow at noon until 4pm at Christ the King Lutheran Church, Memphis.We have 13 beef and 4 chicken chilis to taste and enjoy, 140 auction items, and almost 60 bottles of wines and 10 bourbon for the battle. And a few nutcrackers! Jim Devan has built a table out of wood from an old organ found behind our choir loft and it's beautiful. We have a Jacqueline Foshee water color original, a handmade Nutcracker center puece made by Bette Hunter Coatney, art cards from NolanArt, handmade earrings from a church member and framed photography from another. The Beatles have some new tunes and have been rehearsing! Judges who did not make it today, please see me in the morning after first service for training! Hoping to see everyone there!

CHILI AUCTION! This Sunday! September 21st, after the second service, starting at 12pm. Please join us for a FUNraiser for great causes such as our adopted school in Haiti. Thank you to Christopher and Aaron for donating all the bourbon. You can bid on those to take home a winning bottle! Or take home a bottle of wine from our wine pull. Thank you to those who have donated to our amazing wine collection. We have lots of great auction items, including a Drury Inn stay, Nashville attractions such as the Zoo and Botanic Gardens. Lots of Memphis attractions, including fancy seats at the Orpheum, St. Louis Cardinals tickets, themed baskets, a $400 7-speed bike from a local bike shop, cakes from Julie Haggerty, some Nutcrackers to add to your collection, and so much more! Help us make this our most successful auction yet! Don't forget Pastor Chuck will be back with the Beatles this year, and we will announce winners of our chili contest! Thank you to our judges who have agreed to taste all of our chili! Please come out to vote for your favorite in the popular vote! BBQ sliders will be available for those who don't care for chili. We can't wait to see you!

CHILI CHECK IN - Please bring your chili in a crockpot that will allow us to keep it warm until we move it into pans. PLEASE LABEL YOUR BOTTOM AND YOUR LID of your crockpot so you get back both pieces! You may check in your chili at the tables in front of the kitchen window starting at 8:00am. Please be sure and sign the log in sheet. Please do not just set your chili down. Thank you to everyone!

JUDGES / CHILI CHECK IN / CASHIER / AUCTION MONITOR Training - Please stop by on Friday or Saturday during set up to get instructions. We cannot do this on Sunday morning. Please call 901.488.8960 to make sure we haven't stepped out or finished for the day. All other volunteers should arrive in the fellowship hall between 8:45 and 11:45 am.
