Brothers of the Southern Region,

As we observe Memorial Day, let us pause to honor and remember the brave men and women of our Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Their courage, commitment, and selflessness have secured the freedoms we enjoy and continue to inspire generations of Americans.

As Men of Alpha, we recognize the profound meaning of service, leadership, and sacrifice. Many Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha have proudly worn the uniform, answering the call to defend liberty and justice at home and abroad. Today, we pay tribute not only to those who served, but especially to those who gave their lives so that others might live in freedom.

Let this day also remind us of our responsibility to lead with purpose, uplift our communities, and honor the legacy of sacrifice through meaningful action and unwavering brotherhood.

May we never forget the cost of freedom, and may we continue to embody the principles of leadership, service, and excellence that define our dear Fraternity.

First of All, Servants of All, We Shall Transcend All.

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. wishes Brother Bob Willis a happy 100th birthday and thanks him for his many years of service to the Fraternity and the community. Brother Willis has served in several positions within the Fraternity, none more important than as senior advisor to nine Past General Presidents and continuing this role with current General President Brother Lucien J. Metellus, Jr. We wish him many more years of service and success.

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. mourns the death today of the late Civil Rights Movement icon and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Frater Rev. Jesse Jackson, Sr., a founder of the Rainbow PUSH Organization, and protégé and close aide of the late Brother Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. He was 84.
 
“We the men of Alpha lift up his family and community in prayers,” said Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. General President Brother Lucien J. Metellus, Jr. “The strives we have made as a nation can be directly tied to the work of Jesse Jackson and now more than ever, we need more people that will fight the good fight.”

The Alpha Memphis Education Foundation is a non-profit organization that empowers youth through education, community engagement, and mentorship. They serve students in middle and high school.

Their “Go-to-High-School, Go-to-College” program helps students with ACT prep training, as well as scholarship training.
