Fair Housing Month 2026: We Belong. We Ain’t Beggin’.

This year’s theme, “We Belong. We Ain’t Beggin’,” reflects a powerful truth: fair housing is not something people should have to ask for—it is a right. Across Memphis, too many residents continue to face barriers to safe, accessible, and livable housing, whether through discrimination, lack of accommodations, or systems that delay or deny what should already be guaranteed. This theme centers dignity, ownership, and community voice. It reminds us that everyone deserves a place to call home without having to justify their worth or fight for basic access. During Fair Housing Month, we are not just raising awareness—we are standing firmly on the belief that housing justice is non-negotiable, and that every person belongs.
