Stand Beside Her

Encouraging women and girls to connect and support each other instead of engage in comparison and competition.

The Stand Beside Her Project is a national movement dedicated to mentoring, supporting and developing other women and girls. A week determined to end comparison and competition and create more collaboration and support for one another. Starting in childhood girls are inundated with negative messages and behaviors that prevent them from building healthy relationships and ideals about their potentia

l. Girls keep these unhealthy ideals and relationships as they mature into women. The competition and comparison formed on the playground and in the classroom carries over to the boardroom and in the home preventing women from reaching their fullest potential. We’re developing the next generation of girl leaders. Let’s create a world where all women and girls are appreciated for their talent, strengths and uniqueness. Stand Beside Her is a call to action initiative to mentor, support and develop women and girls; to end comparison and competition and create more collaboration and support for one another. We invite you to stand beside us the week of October 25-31, 2015 to change our current culture so every girl and woman can reach her fullest potential.

I choose to stand beside and support other women because of the extraordinary women who challenged, pushed, and encouraged me to be the woman I am today. By standing beside other women I am pushing for equity, justice, and greater opportunities for the women who will come after my generation. When women choose to stand beside each other we cultivate cultures of innovations and mold the change-agents our communities need and deserve.

I would not be where I am today without an army of strong, encouraging women. Through my family, friends, and work family, I have learned to be authentically myself. I encourage other women to be their best selves by finding a strong woman or group of women that they can lean on. Together as women we can do so much! Thank you so much to the women of for a wonderful 2022 Stand Beside Her Celebration! Our Girl Scouts had a wonderful time making friendship bracelets and working together to create a sweet treat! We are looking forward to next year already!

Last night Girl Scouts attended the “Choose Confidence! A Stand Beside Her Virtual Event”. Thank you so much to Lauren Blodgett for helping us out on a great event for girls all over the country! What a fun night!

Girl Scout Troop 40235 completed their Stand Beside Her patch last night! The girls did many of the different activities from our patch program. They loved creating the I Am jars and making friendship bread! How fun!?
