Let’s boil up some support and good times! We’re back again with our favorite event of the year, the Project Apoyo Crawfish Boil 🦞🍺. Join us in Midtown Memphis at on May 2 from 3-5 pm. We’ll have delicious crawfish and sides, beer/wine/batch cocktails, live music, and a moon bounce and snow cones for the kiddos.

We are thrilled to share that a new English teacher at Escuela de Chicamán has been hired thanks to the generous support of Project Apoyo donors.

Señora Carol is now teaching 103 students each week, from Prepa through 5th grade.

Learning English at an early age does more than prepare students for future employment. Research shows that learning a second language strengthens memory, problem-solving skills, and cognitive flexibility, helping children become stronger learners across all subjects.

Thank you to everyone who donated. Because of you, opportunity is growing in Chicamán. We are excited to share Carol’s story and keep you updated on the progress of this new English program. 💛

For our end-of-year giving campaign, we set out to raise $14,544.30. And y’all went and gave $20,526! With these funds, we’re going all in on our English initiatives. At our partner school, The School of Hope (Education for the Children Foundation), an elementary English teacher will be hired, and 96 students will receive the software and books needed for an English program that will build off last year’s pilot program success.

This is real impact.

A teacher in Guatemala will be gainfully employed.

Students will learn English to help their employment prospects down the road.

Kids will be exposed to a second language at an early age, and studies show this helps develop stronger cognitive skills, better attention control, higher problem-solving skills, and improved memory.

Real. Impact. All thanks to you. And we couldn’t be more grateful.
