Today may be a day full of stomach churning as people hold on to their hopes for change as Tennessee moves forward claiming new elected leaders. In Mississippi, Labor took time to dig in deeper about the conversations to get more Black Men involved in getting other men to the polls.

They collectively discussed the challenges and popcorned ideas to get more men engaged from the barshop to the corner store, especially absentee ballots for those that still qualify to vote while serving time. Everyone can do something.

It was interesting to hear how so many residents were still registered in other states and were missing the opportunity to change their own backyards. Register and Get Involved and then hit repeat.

Adrian Millsap shared this thoughts and the men in the room locked in and are ready to get more boots on the ground.

The Central Labor Council of Memphis & West TN has 3 counties in Mississippi and we want to work with our neighboring affilates to stay informed, educated and aware of actions and issues.

The STNDRD Bearer initiative is a Black male voter engagement campaign focused on uniting, uplifting and empowering Black men in Mississippi through education on voting rights and participation in civil rights. This will be a panel discussion in partnership with the Omega Psi Phi fraternity.

Tomorrow, August 6, our eboard member, Adrian Millsap, a long standing organizer of UAW and Member of Omega Psi Phi, will be apart of this panel discussion. Asking for Labor to come out to support and join the conversation.
