HOUSING COUNSELOR
MALS seeks energetic, compassionate individual to provide mortgage default counseling and assist clients in implementing a plan of action to avoid foreclosure and loss of their home. Will also provide comprehensive individualized counseling services to clients not yet in default to educate and assist them in understanding the financial obligations of home ownership. Because our housing counselors work closely with mortgage lenders in negotiating mortgage modifications, basic familiarity with terminology and concepts used in mortgage lending is essential. Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse clients and lenders required. Must be organized and able to gather, organize and analyze large amounts of client financial information quickly. Must be computer literate. Fluency in Spanish preferred.
