A student can walk into a new room carrying a reputation they never had a chance to earn there.

Educators share information for good reasons. A heads-up about safety, learning needs, triggers, successful supports, or a pattern that truly matters can help the next adult respond better. But there is a difference between useful context and a running commentary about who a student supposedly is.

When we pass along frustration, labels, or predictions, the next teacher may start watching for the version of the student they were warned about. Give students the information-supported help they need, then give them room to show you who they are in your classroom.

Teachers aren’t tired of teaching.

They’re tired of what teaching has become.

A system where behavior has no real consequences…
So learning gets interrupted again and again.

Lessons that can’t flow…
Because one disruption can take over the whole room.

Support that gets talked about…
But rarely shows up when it actually matters.

Being blamed by parents…
For things outside their control.

And the constant pile of paperwork, meetings, and demands…
That have nothing to do with helping students learn.

The truth is, most teachers still love teaching.

They love the moments when it clicks.
When a student finally understands.
When confidence grows.

But those moments are getting buried under everything else.

And that’s why people are walking away.

Not from teaching…
But from the system around it.

Because you can’t keep asking more, giving less, and expect people to stay.

If we truly want great teachers in our classrooms, we need to build a system where they can actually thrive… not just endure.
