Why do planners talk about neighborhood density?

Because vibrant, walkable neighborhoods bring people closer together—literally and figuratively! Higher density means more homes, shops, and services within a short distance, which creates:

🚶Convenience: Daily needs like groceries, schools, and parks are just a short walk or bike ride away.

🏠 Community: When people live closer together, they interact more often—on sidewalks, in local businesses, and at community events.

🚉 Efficiency: Dense neighborhoods support better public transit and reduce reliance on cars, saving time and money.

✨Vitality: More people in an area means more support for local businesses, cultural activities, and public spaces.

In short, density isn’t about crowding—it’s about creating connected, thriving neighborhoods where life happens closer to home.

Let's talk about what this looks like in your neighborhood. Stop by Memphis 3.0 Workshop 4 to share your input and ask questions. Find your meeting: https://www.memphis3point0.com/news-events

WINTER IS COMING Y'ALL! ARE YOU READY?!
Let's get ready together! Join us at COMEC901 with AARP and Evangelist Cobb & get ready for potential cold snaps & the inevitable power outages that come with inclement winter weather.

We know our communities are aging communities and most of the homes are not properly weather & water proofed and sometimes we have to use alternative sources of heat... Like our ovens & stovetops (I did it for 20yrs). In most cases our seniors are most adversely affected by inclement weather.

This event will offer education & tips on how to prepare for cold weather, power outages, & fire prevention.

‼️The FIRST 50 GUESTS will receive FREE EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS EQUIPMENT‼️

***Must register upon entry***

We're gonna have fun with it with games, trivia, & giveaways!
Lunch will be served!
Hope to C U at COMEC901!!
