💜✨ REUNITED & SAFE – SHANIAH ISOM UPDATE ✨💜

After 13 long days, we are overjoyed to share that Shaniah Isom is SAFE and has been reunited with her father and family as of March 20th! 🙏🏽💜

Thanks to the coordinated efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies across state lines, Shaniah was located and safely recovered in Pueblo, Colorado. Authorities confirmed that she is now in safe hands, and reunification with her custodial family has taken place.

An arrest has been made in connection to her abduction, bringing an additional step toward accountability and justice.

This outcome is what we pray for every time we share a post — a safe return home. 💜

To Shaniah’s family: We stand with you in this moment of relief, healing, and restoration.

To everyone who shared, prayed, and stayed alert — YOU made a difference. Never underestimate the power of community.

🙌🏽 WELCOME HOME, SHANIAH! 🙌🏽

INITIAL STORY

Shaniah Isom, 11 (DOB: 3/9/2015), is currently missing from Olive Branch, MS, and her family is urgently seeking help to locate her. Her custodial father, R.L. Isom Jr., has not seen or heard from Shaniah since she went to school on Friday, March 6, 2026.

Shaniah had been staying for a few days with her great-grandfather, Willie Brown Sr., and was expected to return home on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. For those who constantly ask questions like "Why wasn't an AMBER Alert issued," it's important that we use the resources at our disposal before just making comments, assumptions, and accusations about the police or families. Believe it or not, police don’t issue AMBER Alerts for every missing child. Why, you ask? Well, let me tell you. AMBER Alerts are designed for specific, urgent cases where public involvement can realistically help recover the missing child quickly.

In the U.S., the U.S. Department of Justice has guidelines that most states follow. Generally, an AMBER Alert will only be issued if:

1. The child is 17 or younger.

2. Law enforcement believes the child has been abducted — not just missing or a runaway.

3. The child is in imminent danger of serious injury or death.

4. Enough descriptive information about the child, the suspect, or the suspect’s vehicle exists to help locate them.

5. The alert is issued quickly after the abduction, because timeliness is key to recovery.

If a child is simply missing with no evidence of abduction, or if there’s not enough descriptive information to share, an AMBER Alert often won’t go out.

This is partly to avoid “alert fatigue” — if the system is used too often for lower-risk cases, the public may start ignoring the alerts.

When a case doesn’t qualify for an AMBER Alert, police use other alert systems such as Missing Child Alerts, Endangered Missing Advisories, or local media releases to spread the word.
