Dear Blue Streakers!
It is time for a Blue Streak 2020-21 school year update. Things are going extremely well in the schools of our diocese. We have been in session and in person since August 11th. Next month, our Seniors and 8th graders will be graduating and moving on to the next phase of their lives. These are exciting times for our students.
Blue Streak continues to support students from low-income families, so they are able to receive a private Catholic education. Without the support from the generous Blue Streak donors, this would not be possible. We currently support students at St. Benedict, OLPH, and St. Paul. Our support for the students at St. Paul goes deep. We have pledged $40,000 in support of their students. By the end of this week, we will have donated $28,000 of our pledge with $12,000 left to go.
This update is also a call to all Blue Streakers that we still need to finish this year’s commitment and start preparing for next school year. St. Benedict has already made a request for assistance for next year, which will support more students. We are certain St. Paul will need at least the same amount of assistance as they did this year.
Even though the Jubilee Schools aren’t around, the families needing financial assistance to be able to give their children a Catholic education are very much present. The more students we assist, the more lives we change for the better. Giving is not just about making a donation. Giving is about making a difference.
Please consider supporting these families through the Blue Streak Scholarship Fund (https://bluestreakmemphis.com). I’m available if you have any questions and would love to hear from you.
