🌟 Calling All Young Entrepreneurs in Memphis! 🌟

Do you know a creative, driven kid with a big idea? 💡

The Memphis Children’s Business Fair is back—and it’s one of the most inspiring events of the year!

Hosted by Book It 4 Life, this one-day pop-up shop gives youth ages 6–17 the opportunity to launch their own business, showcase their talents, and sell their products or services in a real marketplace setting. 🛍️

This is more than a booth—it’s a chance for young people to build confidence, learn real-world skills, and experience what it means to be an entrepreneur.

📣 Host a Little Free Library in VECA

VECA is growing its Little Free Libraries! Thanks to a grant from the Memphis City Council, our neighborhood is expanding Little Free Libraries 📚 and Free Little Art Galleries 🎨.

Want to help bring books and creativity to your block?

VECA is looking for neighbors willing to host a Little Free Library or Free Little Art Gallery.

Hosting is simple:
Place the library in a visible spot on your property
Help keep it stocked and tidy
Encourage neighbors to share books or art

Hosting a library helps:
📖 Improve youth access to books
🎨 Encourage creativity
🤝 Build stronger connections between neighbors

🎉 Exciting News! 🎉

Teens Mentoring Seniors in Technology: Young leaders from East High School's DECA team are making a meaningful impact by assisting seniors at the Lewis Senior Center through the "Teens Teach Tech" initiative.

🗓️ Thursday, March 12, 2026
⏰ 12 PM - 1:30 PM
📍 Lewis Center, 1188 N. Parkway, Memphis, TN 38104

In our fast-paced technology world, it's essential for seniors to feel connected. The students are teaching indispensable skills such as cybersecurity, mobile phone basics, and online bill payments, helping to bridge the gap between generations.

We hope this inspires both our teens and seniors alike! Thank you to District 7 Councilwoman Dr. Michalyn Easter-Thomas, Memphis Parks, and East High School DECA for hosting this great two-part event! We are so proud of these talented and giving teens!

Great news for VECA! VECA received a community grant from the Memphis City Council to help homeowners repair damaged sidewalks.

✔ VECA pays 50% of the repair cost
✔ Additional 10% discount for seniors
✔ Limited funds available first-come, first-served

VECA coordinates the contractor, permits, and scheduling to make the process easy.

Congratulations from VECA!

Crosstown Brewing Company is a 2026 Mojo recipient. It was founded by Will Goodwin and the late Clark Orkteise. They began brewing in Orkteise’s back yard until they opened in Crosstown in 2018. Their goal of combining good beer and a cohesive community came to fruition. Since opening, they expanded their distribution beyond Memphis city limits, to Mississippi, Arkansas and throughout Tennessee. At the taproom in Memphis, they have trivia, live music, and a welcoming setting for community to gather. Go check out Crosstown Brewing!
