On December 13, 2011, the Renaissance Youth Connection Program held it first Mentorship and Leadership Development Session. There were several guest speakers as well as a performance of a spoken word piece by a group (couple) Inner-City South. These sessions are established to help urban youth to successfully transition into the work-force and/or secondary education.

The Memphis Housing Authority (MHA) and the Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) of Greater Memphis are partnering to provide youth services called “The Renaissance Youth Connection” (RYC). The RYC is providing job skill training to youth between the ages of 18 and 21 who are out of school.
