The Gentlemen's League

The Gentlemen's League All-male mentorship program seeking to cultivate joy in schools and life through mentoring. WE ARE . . . The program will serve middle school students.

A dropout prevention intervention/ mentorship program for minority young boys "at-risk" of dropping out of school and/or choosing a life of crime. A PROMISE OF SUCCESS . . . When students enter the program, they are guaranteed a chance to attend college or advance through a potpourri of post-secondary opportunities geared toward the next level of education. Mentors from the program assist students

with their matriculation through middle school into high school and into post-secondary opportunities. Short Term Impact: Students who participate in the Gentlemen’s League will be tracked quarterly to determine the effectiveness of the program. The short term impact of the program:
-Less suspensions/ disciplinarian issues
-Increase is students’ personal values
-Increase in student achievement
-Increase in school/student morale
-Increase in leadership development
-Increase in accountability

Long Term Impact: Statistics show that males who are enrolled into a mentorship program are more likely to attend a college or university. Students who participate in the program and graduate statistically have no further negative contact with violations of student conduct codes or the law. Other long term effects are:
-Increase in student achievement
-Decrease in student dropout rates.
-Increased number of student admitted into college.
-Increase in students college/career readiness
-Decrease in behavioral issues in/out of school

Year 5 at University High School!

Last year, our UHS Gents set the bar across the entire TGL network, finishing with the strongest GPA in the network and ZERO behavioral infractions all year.

Last year, we celebrated a major milestone as our very first class of TGL Gents graduated from high school. This year, we’re ready to celebrate Class #2 and continue building on what we started.

The Gentlemen’s League is excited to return to Leadership Preparatory Charter School, serving 7th & 8th grade Gents for the 2026–2027 school year!

Our first year together gave us plenty to build on:

📈 13.2% increase in average GPA

Last year, our 39 Gents at KIPP Memphis Collegiate Middle saw:

📉 23.1% decrease in average absences
📉 18.2% decrease in behavior infractions
📈 5% increase in average GPA

We’re excited to return to KIPP Memphis Collegiate Middle for Year 2 and continue building on the progress we started together.

We're excited to officially welcome Freedom Prep Academy - Memphis Millbranch and Schools of Perea 1 to The Gentlemen's League family for the 2026–2027 school year!

Both schools started their partnership through participation in the Elementary Basketball League, and we are excited that they will now also participate in our school-based mentoring program and more.

Every new partnership means more young men reached, more mentors engaged, and more opportunities to build leaders who are truly Built Different.
