🚨 Advocacy happens when neighbors and community partners step up for the place we call home. BLDG Memphis is here to help you plug in, stay informed, and take action on the issues shaping our city.

Right now, proposed 2026 rollbacks to the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) put up to 85% of current community development activity at risk. The CRA is a vital tool that holds financial institutions accountable, ensuring banks invest in local affordable housing, small businesses, and neighborhood development across our zip codes.

To oppose these harmful changes, we are joining our partners at NCRC in collecting sign-ons for two important letters: An official Comment Letter to regulators at the OCC and FDIC, and a joint advocacy letter to Congress.

We encourage all CRA supporters, community leaders, and neighborhood organizations to sign on to both letters. The form includes full letter summaries so you can review key takeaways before adding your name. Sign-on deadline: October 7th

It’s National Voter Registration Day, Memphis! 🗳️

It has never been easier to make your voice heard. Whether registering for the first time or updating your details, get ready for the State and Federal General & Municipal Election on November 3, 2026.

Key Dates to Remember
Registration Deadline: Monday, October 5, 2026 (11:59 PM)
Election Day: Tuesday, November 3, 2026

Eligibility Requirements
U.S. Citizen
Resident of Tennessee
At least 18 years old on or before Election Day

3 Quick Ways to Register

Online: Visit GoVoteTN.gov or use the free GoVoteTN app to register or check your status in minutes.

By Mail: Download, complete, and mail the Voter Registration Application to your County Election Commission (must be postmarked by Oct 5).

In Person: Pick up an application at your local County Clerk’s office, public library, Register of Deeds, or County Election Commission office.

Don't forget: Review the 3 proposed constitutional amendments on your ballot before casting your vote. Read the summaries at sos.tn.gov.

🇺🇸 Happy Labor Day from BLDG Memphis!

Today is about celebrating the people who do the heavy lifting in our city: the grassroots organizers, small business owners, and everyday residents putting in the work to make Memphis better.

A big part of building stronger neighborhoods is making sure people are actually safe in them. That means streets with real pedestrian protections, working crosswalks, and designs that put people first. No neighbor should have to worry about their safety just walking down the block or heading to the bus stop.

If you're out driving to a cookout or running errands today, slow down and watch out for people walking and biking. Enjoy the day off!
