We're bursting with pride for the nearly 120 MaineHealth care team members, family members, and even a few four-legged friends who participated in the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention- Maine Chapter Out of the Darkness Walks in Brunswick and Portland this September. 💜

From the inaugural Brunswick walk with Team Rise MaineHealth to Portland, where Team MaineHealth Beacon of Hope remained the largest team, our colleagues showed up with passion, purpose, and commitment. Not even a Nor'easter could stop them from continuing its six-year tradition of unwavering support for su***de awareness.

Thank you to everyone who walked, supported, and cheered for both teams. Together, we sent a powerful message across our communities: no one has to walk this journey alone. MaineHealth Mid Coast Hospital ***deawareness

🌱 A healthier future includes a healthier planet!

We’re proud to share that MaineHealth Behavioral Health at Spring Harbor has been named a 2026 Greenhealth Champion Award winner by Practice Greenhealth recognizing our commitment to environmental sustainability and continued progress in reducing its environmental impact.

This national honor highlights our amazing team's dedication to making sustainable choices for our patients, our community, and our planet. Here are just a few ways we're making a difference:

♻️ Recycling nearly half our waste—the highest rate in the MaineHealth system!
🌎 Cutting our greenhouse gas emissions by 24% since 2023.
⚡ Keeping our energy use below the national hospital median.

These achievements are possible thanks to our team’s commitment to practical solutions, like energy-efficient upgrades, better recycling and composting programs, and more eco-friendly cafeteria options. A big congratulations to everyone for showing that caring for our environment goes hand-in-hand with caring for people. Together, we're building a healthier future for all! 💚
