At our May Membership Meeting, we hosted a giveaway sponsored by Lace Safety Vest and Radians, where each attendee had the opportunity to select an item. Our guest speaker and NAWIC member, Ms. Tiffany Gibbs from TOSHA, shared valuable insights on workplace safety and highlighted what TOSHA looks for during job site inspections.
She outlined the components of a walk-through inspection, including management and employee interviews, air and noise monitoring, airflow and distance measurements, reviews of Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and evaluations of safety programs such as Lockout/Tagout and Confined Spaces. She also addressed common concerns like electrical and fall hazards, along with the importance of implementing corrective actions.
