The Original LUVMUD had a run of 5 years with 6 mud runs. The Grind City GetDown.

LUVMUD was an all day music festival and a 5K Mud run with a 60' long MUD PIT finish line. LUVGLO was eventually born with the same concept...lets do something that hasn't been done before in Memphis. A 5K GlowRun at night in downtown Memphis. Over the 5 year period, we had over 7000 participants and over 20,000 in attendance to all our events. Later this spring...the makers of LUVMUD bring anoth

er brand new concept to downtown Memphis. The GetDown is a crazy fun urban dodge ball tournament. Games will be played by a team of friends, co-workers, or corporate teams in a caged court that will be placed in the middle of the street. Stax Music has partnered with us to make sure we true Get Down in downtown Memphis. More details to come.

Prayers for the Higgins family and members of the Memphis reggae and punk musician community. Omar Higgins went into eternity last week. Omar was part of the Chinese Connection Dub Embassy that had played every year at LUVMUD.

By seeing the Historic Clayborn Temple full today of people of all ages, races, and music styles ...it truly shows the impact a person can have on a community. Omar is a testament of loving your brother and using music as a means to bring people together. Their mantra was “Our force will only move through Jah guidance and the love and support of a community dedicated to unity.”
His brother Joseph Higgins said that “Omar talked about those churches as things that kept him centered. With all the wickedness and crazy stuff that went on the world, we all need that assurance, hope, and peace. We got that from reggae music, and the churches.”

LUVMUD has come to an end due to changes within the organization. We are so INCREDIBLY thankful for your generous support over the years. Your support had a huge impact on families caring for a critically ill child. Thanks for coming out every year in a huge way and getting muddy.
