So tell us — what are you most excited to see when the doors open?

Last Friday, we welcomed a group of PA students from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center's geriatrics course for an afternoon of art observation at the Museum. 🎨

The visit used works of art to help build students' observation skills, develop empathy, and offer a moment of wellness for healthcare professionals in training.

Thank you for spending your Friday with us — we loved having you!

Some walk through 'Bodies of Water' and feel joy rise to the surface. Others pause and are drawn into a single frame long enough to lose themselves in it. Both are the right way to experience it. ✨

We're until 8pm tonight so stop by!

David Uzochukwu: Bodies of Water is a poetic meditation on identity, migration, and belonging — where hybrid beings navigate dreamlike worlds built for resilience and transformation. However it moves you, however long you linger, this exhibition meets you there.

Major support from the National Endowment for the Arts, with additional support from Molly and Jason Wexler, Dr. Linda Tharp, Black Art Collective, and Pride Collective.

The exhibition catalogue is supported by Furthermore:
a program of the J.M. Kaplan Fund.

🚨We are thrilled to announce that acclaimed Memphis restaurateur John-Paul Gagliano—the visionary force behind Ecco, Libro, and Tonica—will lead our new, full-service restaurant inside the future downtown home of the Memphis Art Museum!

Opening in January 2027, the restaurant will bring a brand-new, original concept inspired by Libro to a spectacular street-facing corner of our new riverfront building.

Here is what you can look forward to:
A dramatic, double-height dining room, a 20-seat bar, and beautiful indoor/outdoor seating designed by Tennessee’s own Dryden Studio.

The interiors draw inspiration from the Mississippi River, featuring Tennessee Pink marble, custom local craftsmanship, and warm, natural textures.

With its own dedicated exterior entrance, it will operate independently of museum hours—making it your perfect new go-to for a long lunch, a glass of wine after work, or a Saturday night out on Front Street.

Spanning more than two decades and three restaurants, the project represents both a homecoming and continuation of a multigenerational commitment to shaping Memphis’s dining culture.
