As our Premier Innovation Sponsor, MEDVA gives practices a flexible approach to administrative support.

MEDVA was founded by physicians who experienced these challenges firsthand. Today, MEDVA supports more than 1,000 healthcare organizations across the United States with experienced virtual assistants who help practices improve efficiency while allowing providers to focus on patient care.

‘The way medicine is practiced these days’: Outpatient surgery centers keep growing as patients seek same-day care-

Clint Cummins, CEO of the Memphis Medical Society, said he and colleagues will work with the Tennessee Medical Association to lobby state and federal officials on reimbursement rates in upcoming legislative sessions.

Employers are also feeling the pinch as health insurance costs keep rising, Cummins said. And broadly, reimbursements are trending in the wrong direction, he said.

“There’s some facts and figures out there that basically say when you adjust for inflation, physicians are down 30% over the last 25 years on their reimbursement levels,” Cummins said. “And so we’re constantly trying to get those increased where we can.”

MMS staff representing the Society, MedTemps, Project Access West Tennessee, and our Foundation attended the groundbreaking of UTHSC College of Medicine's Interdisciplinary Building yesterday. The new building will welcome almost 1500 more health professionals during its first five years, helping address the approaching physician shortage in the state.

Congratulations to our friends at the COM.

Thanks to UT for several of these photos, and for hosting hundreds for the occasion.

The costs of an open position add up quickly.

Fewer appointments, increased overtime, reduced productivity, and more pressure on the employees carrying the load. The longer it's open, the greater the impact on your business.

Filling the position matters. Finding the right person matters more.

MedTemps helps hospitals, clinics, and medical practices recruit qualified healthcare professionals, reducing the time spent searching, screening, and recruiting.

Our friends at Vitalant - South have asked us to help spread an important message.

"Because platelets are highly perishable and must be transfused within about a week, we cannot simply build a large reserve and rely on it when patients need us. We need committed platelet donors continually stepping forward to help maintain a stable supply."

Learn more about the need and how to help on our blog: https://www.mdmemphis.org/platelets/
