Today we recognize Ms. Portia Moore Transitional ReEntry Adult Program-T R A P for


Thank you my sister in Re-Entry for your preservance and outcoming obstacles... you are the REAL MVP ! 🤞🏽💯

Portia says she is just a girl raised by my Grandparents from Binghampton and graduated from East High School 2001. She briefly attended SWCC and University of Phoenix but found herself getting pulled into the streets of Orange Mound and facing felony drug charges which were later dropped to a misdemeanor. After being tired of the revolving door in and out of jail, she decided it was time for change.

She struggled the first 7yrs post incarceration due to a fractured background but decided to redirect energy into “entrepreneurship with a cause.” Over the past 15yrs, she has strengthened her skills in Staffing and HR and now pours back into those who experience what she has through her nonprofit organization, “The Transitional Reentry Adult Program” better known as T.R.A.P!

Founded in 2023, T.R.A.P. (to date) has been a true testament of transformative change for 700 justice-involved individuals who have been unsuccessful in their re-entry into society and or the workforce. Her 3 key focus areas for self-success have been (1) to avoid any recidivism (returning to incarceration); (2) to live a new life of empowerment and achievement in re-entry; and (3) to devote new life to successfully transforming other justice-involved individuals sharing those similar challenges barriers, and experiences.

Today, Portia is still living out her mission and pursuing purpose, regularly helping turn the justice-involved who have been released into newly productive, law-abiding citizens within our own community.
